Re: 6th gen games on dreamcast

TheRedFox hit it on the money. All of those sweet Naomi games and the games from Sammy's Atomiswave would have been terrific. Plus Sega's awesome releases they dropped on the PS2, Gamecube, and Xbox. Could you imagine Panzer Dragoon freaking Orta?...that baby was meant to be on a Dreamcast!

Re: flaws of dreamcast games

I think that the Dreamcast did a lot well. I think one of my gripes, though, was the limitation of the VMU and the 200 blocks. I remember some games were just huge gobblers of space on those VMUs. Record of Lodoss War, I believe, was one of those. The noise of the GD-Rom was just ridiculous sometime...

Re: Sakura Wars 1 import on US Dreamcast

I got the Gameshark CDX back in the days, and I had no problem with any imports whatsoever. However, due to the age of the system, you might keep your eyes open on a Japanese Dreamcast and save yourself the trouble.

Re: Border Down

Yeah...good luck with that. To find it under $100 is next to impossible. It is a fantastic game. I still have mine factory sealed. You won't find that game or any of the other late release official shmups for under $50.

Re: Which version of Under Defeat to buy?

You aren't going to find Under Defeat for under $30 for Dreamcast. I've been through Den Den Town in Osaka and Akihabara several times, and that game along with the other late release shmups on Dreamcast still hold their value well above $30. If you are on a budget, the PS3 would be your way to go.

Re: Guess what I got from the post office today!

Pretty sweet. I'm so glad that I got a pair of saturn twin sticks with the total control adapter to play them on the saturn and dreamcast. Considering that the 360 sticks will be like 300 dollars, it is a steal.

Games that could have been on the Dreamcast

Although many have placed petitions for games and sequels to come out on the Dreamcast, I was surprised to read how many games that came out and are still coming out on the Naomi have left the DC behind for the "greener" pastures despite how easy a port would be. Looking at System 16 as a ...

Re: Spreading the Dreamcast love - a few pages from the Wii

Perhaps so back then, but look at games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero...expensive peripherals in every box to simulate the real experience. Since my last post, my in-laws picked up a fishing rod controller & Bust-A-Move 4 -> they are hooked!

Keeping track of your Dreamcast saves

So I was reading in another topic about difficulty keeping track of Dreamcast game saves due to the auto-save feature. That can definitely be annoying. One thing that I have done to keep track of my game saves is using different colored/labeled vmus. For instance, I have a blue vmu for my Bleem! gam...

Spreading the Dreamcast love - a few pages from the Wii

So Nintendo has gone out and made tons of money on a hyped-up gamecube build for fun rather than hardcore gamers. However, looking at the style and fun of gameplay, many can say that the Dreamcast did a lot of what the Wii has taken credit for with regards to interacting. I took the idea of Nintendo...

Re: Where to buy

That is a crazy cheap price for a buy it now with an official set; but I guess with the Wii release, it doesn't make them as special. Talking about Samba de Amigo - I just got a 360 arcade set, and I am loving the Samba de Amigo stage on Sega Superstars Tennis - simply awesome! It plays fantastic li...

Re: Gamecube screen in Dreamcast ?

I thought about trying to do the same thing, but then I stumbled upon another portable screen that worked for all systems at the time. I know that their is a lot of ingenuity, but it is probably better to play it safe than to blow a good screen. Good luck on your endeavor.

Re: BBA or Coder's Cable

Ebay is the way to go - you can definitely get it for cheaper than $160 from the link to estarland - usually your best bet to get it at a good price (barely over $100) is on auctions that end really really late at night where you come in at the end for a snipe. - That is how I got Trigger Heart Exel...

Play Magazine's April Fools joke of Dreamcast 2

IGN had done a similar piece, but Play Magazine probably did it better with far more as far as within the realm of possibility (although really improbable). They had some great names for future Dreamcast 2 games like Sonic Dreams, Shining Force Online (which would really rock), Panzer Dragoon Saga 2...

Rez Prototype Released!

Several years ago, I read an article on Gamasutra about the only American working for Tetsuya Mizuguchi at UGA back in the days when Sega & the Dreamcast were king. He talked about the ups and downs working during this period as well as how Rez evolved into the game it is today. In its earlier s...

Apparently National Console Support has got Border Down or atleast access to the reprints of Border Down as of the past few days, but they are saying it is going to "hurt." If anybody is interested, they should definitely contact them or just drop $100+ over at ebay.
