Does it have a playlist function? shuffle?

I could be wrong, but I don't think there are good emulators for Jag/3DO on ANY platform.

Gameboy Advance/Nintendo 64/Playstation/Neo Geo are probably too much to hope for, given the DC's limited processing power/RAM.

Does this one run any faster than the previous attempts?

No scanner here, unfortunately.

DCDivx supports long mp3 file names, but if they're too awful long you won't be able to see the full filename. I usually use:

<track number> <songname>.mp3

and that displays fine.

DCDivx has the best MP3 player available for Dreamcast. The only thing that sucks is that it doesn't have a playlist function (yet).

Gottahavit figured out the problem...there was a bug that was causing DCDivX to run out of memory right after the CD booted up. It's fixed now and BetaBoy put up some images at http://www.dcdivx.com. They should be mirrored on this site cause he's low on bandwidth.

Why is this exactly? Doesn't the DC have a special sound processor?

I've heard it works either way with menu programs, but for some reason no one has been able to make it self-boot...it just resets the DC.

There may be a problem with the binaries...I'd hold off on downloading until someone manages to make a proper image.

Anyone found the new keyboard commands? I hit every key on my keyboard and didn't notice anything new, except pressing the pause key caused the dreamcast to lock up

I tried again using Zoidberg's images and they worked great.

Burned the nero image and it just rebooted my dreamcast....

Yes, as long as it's named background.jpg and is the same size as the default skin.
