I believe you wuld be referring to the Sega Dreamcast Movie Maker. This is the sofdec encoder ripped from the Dreamcast SDK. It has the advantage of producing very high quality movies at full speed, even in full frame, and with good quality audio, but has several drawbacks. 1. The video compression...

Ok folks...its Q and A time again. "Does it have a playlist function? shuffle?"-->see skedone's post "Does this mp3 player handle bitrate higher than 128 kb?" -->yup! I've played from 128k to 192k with no probs. I didn't test anything higher as I don't see the use in it. "Do...

And almost as slow as doing the sound emulation in 44kHz. ;-) The sound code already use a disproportional amount of CPU. Why is this exactly? Doesn't the DC have a special sound processor? I've never heard this explained... The SH4 (DC's main CPU) in the DC is emulating both video and sound proces...

The PVRDC chip has support for Bi-linear, Tri-linear, and Anisotropic texture filtering. However, 99% of games will only use Bi-linear filtering. Tri-linear and Anisotropic filtering (da best) cost a bit more fillrate and are rarely used. Thats not to say there's no games that don't use the other ty...

Let me see if I can try to clear this mess up...

The benchmarking that I'm refering to is the what you see/play being emulated on DS verses what a real SNES does. Hmmm, I'm guessing that your talking about a CPU timing benchmark?

Indeed it does mc. But other than testing/debugging the CPU core it doesn't serve much of a purpose to the casual end users, and has little to no relevance to "in game" speed benchmarks.I may be wrong (its been known to happen) in the end when all is written and compiled every emulator is j...

The way you folks are trying to benchmark DS is all wrong IMO. In the real world there would be no frame skipping at all. Since DS doesn't provide us with that option all we have is the emu telling us a percentage of frames displayed out of the amount of frames skipped. Not so good for "real&qu...

I doubt it will happen... for a start it would have to load into the DCs RAM...
Well yeah, your kinda right...that is if one was trying to emulate the cartridge based system. The CD based NG werks a lil' bit differently. ;)
