Well, sorry to bring up a dead thread, but if anyone wants to chip in some logs, I'll be willing to set up another FTP server. However, since PSO is on every console but the PS2 now, I don't honestly expect a lot of interest to be generated. Hopefully, I'm wrong. Note about my crap page: yeah, it su...

Sure, Snort is cool..... I'd say some other packetsniffer is cool but all the other ones are crap, IMO.

BTW....
Anyone know how to knock a 29fps vid down to about 23fps? The frame decemate feature in VirtualDub knocks it down to about 14 or 16 fps when you set it to 2 (the least amount of frames you can decimate), which is unacceptable when I have a DVD rip of a kickass movie (like Series 7 =-)

Blarg.... I had that prob too
I had that problem too. It seemed, however, that it was my Audio codec that was the culprit. I did 3 movies, all the same: 14fps, bitrate of 300 with DivX 5.x (don't remember exactly which one), resolution of 352x240. Audio side was the Lame MP3 codec at 22050 stereo, bitrate of 96. Every time I use...

server up..... goal stated
whoo! The FTP server (should) work. just point your FTP client to PSOProject.d2g.com , with the login of annonymous (no password required). Uploads only, of course, with 15 users login max (seeing the record of the last time I tried this, 15 open slots is more than enough). Also, an earlier post ask...

boo!
Wow, been awhile. To be honest, I kind of gave up on the project, as the server I was hosting the FTP on was no longer accessable to me, and even before I lost access to it, NO ONE (for a solid 5 weeks or so) uploaded any logs.... which are integral to anyone who wants to make a homebrewed server fo...

That would be sweet to have on the DC. It reminds me of the days when I was too young to comprehend how the circulitory system works, much less how my first computer (the awsome Commodore 64) to the fullest. Anyway.... You'd think someone would work on it- they ported Linux and NetBSD onto the damn ...

Forgot something
The login for the server is: User- anybody Password- anybody . Kind of important in order to log in, if ya ask me. =-) BTW, right now only uploads are allowed (no downloads) so no joe surfin' the web can just login and download all the logs, potentially causing some security issues with ppl's Serial...

Gargle Goop (or whatever explietive you want to insert)
Yeah, the website doesn't display the main frame if the resolution on the client's monitor is less than 1024x1028. Unfortunatly, I can't fix it 'till the internet connection at home comes back up, so I'm just gonna post the links to the FTP server here. First one is ftp://dkoikadabra.dns2go.com . Th...

Psudeo Update
Couldn't get to the computer that hosts the FTP server today, so anyone who wants to upload logs, just wait one more day! I haven't forgotten or ditched the 'project' or anything! =-) This week I'm gonna work on getting the Proxy up and logging it correctly. I'm going to attempt to limit the Proxy's...

Ok......
Well, for one, the FTP server I set up is gonna be down 'till Sunday. Damn XP and its idiosyncrasies (if I spelled that right). For two, in reply to the above post, why would Sega care all that much? It's not like we're competing with them, and it's not like this sort of thing hasn't been done befor...

Homepage set up
Well, since the idea was suggested, I made a Homepage for the 'project' (too early to call it that, really) and set up an FTP server that logs can be uploaded to. the URL is http://get-me.to/PSOproject . It's the first Webpage that I've made, so please bear with the horrid color scheme and bad layou...

btw
Is CommView a good packetsniffer proggie (does it even sniff packets?). I'd use snort or tcpdump, but I have little coding experience, and can't get either to compile on my WinME comp. Only one I can use is CommView, since I grabbed the Zipfile with the binaries in it. If anyone can help me compile ...

DC dev scene kickin' it again?
Is it just me, or does it seem like the homebrew/development 'scene' for the Dreamcast seem to have an upturn? When I checked about, say, 3-4 months ago, just about everything froze at the development process that it was at, like the scene died or something (well, there were a few exceptions... I'm ...

The Proxy Server on Broadband Connection Idea
Yeah, someone running a Proxy server on a Broadband connection would help immensley in the direction of cracking PSO's server. How much bandwidth (I think I spelled that right) do you need to have a char? I think I read somewhere that about 2k/sec is needed per char, so I *might* be able to run one ...

Me again
I agree with the idea that we should start with version 1. However, I only got version 2, and I can't pick up a new copy of ver 1 to 'crack' the protocol with. So, someone else is gonna have to 'crack' ver 1's protocol so we can compare notes and see if anything worthwhile is different. I imagine th...
