Re: Star Wars Episode VII discussion [SPOILERS]
I'm in a similar frame of mind as you Fiddler. Basically, I enjoyed it, think it is better than the prequels, but I don't think it is a great film. The way I'd describe it is I liked most aspects of the film, just not enough, if that makes sense. This reminds me of a lot of Marvel's films. Almost ev...

Re: Ash vs Evil Dead Discussion
I'm aware of Universal owning Army of Darkness but, which is why I said it didn't make sense as the whole plot is foreshadowed in ED2. Anyway I am over the show, it's not working. I liked the movies, I used to watch them over and over. The nature of the TV show is just get you amped for the next ep...

Re: Ash vs Evil Dead Discussion
Army of Darkness was made by a different company, and they don't have the rights. So they can't directly reference it. I thought the pilot was excellent, but nothing has quite lived up to it since. I've enjoyed the show overall though. Episode 6 was definitely an improvement on 3-5... 5 in particula...

Re: Non-ZIF NES Cartridge Slot Replacement
I bought one of these. But, the NES I tried to install it in has a stripped screw. Anyone have a thought on getting it out? Never done it, and the NES is plastic so I don't want to drill it.

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
I recently bought Goonies for Famicom, and Labyrinth for Famicom. Yes, they are both based on the 80s movies. I have no idea why they didn't get US releases. Both were cheap too. I also bought the Famicom and NES version of Rampart. They have the same core gameplay, but are actually totally differen...

Re: Best-looking NES games?
I'd say there is actually a lot of trickery and careful art in most NES games (the palette is super limited, for example), it just is so almost required nearly every game has it some extent. I think Batman: Return of the Joker is probably the most impressive technically though. Other ones that stick...

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
More NES games. Most notable is probably Rock Man 4, 5 and 6. I decided I wasn't willing to pony up for Mega Man 5 (it's $80+), and thought, why not just get the second trilogy all as the Famicom versions? All three had a combined cost of around $50 at that.

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
Bought a few things. I got a Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X from Goodwill. Good deal at $9 from Goodwill. I actually don't own any games to use it with. Any Steam suggestions? Probably going to get some of the Star Wars flight games. I also bought a Genesis model 2 from Goodwill - it was just the uni...

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
Why are you buying video games when you have all those children to look after? The more serious question is why do I buy new games when I end up just playing old games anyway. I bought Type 0 and Assassin's Creed Unity in the last few weeks, yet they are just sitting there as I play Final Fantasy V...

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
E. T. is pretty bad, but there are quite a few Atari games as bad or worse. Ones that are incoherent. I can't think of any offhand as they are so forgettable. Oh, and I have received bunch more NES games. Probably the most notable is Ninja Gaiden 3. It was under $40, and that's a good deal these day...

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
(including all the Mega Man titles) How was it finding Mega Man 5? I paid $70 for it, perfect condition, cartridge only, shipped, on eBay. I wasn't a very good collector. I'm not the type to spend a bunch of time going around to different places looking for deals in real life. And I'm too impatient...

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
Man, that's awesome. I would really love full sets of NES and Dreamcast. Money has been really tight, so I have stopped collecting. I have like 30 NES games from my childhood and I bought like 15 more NES games when I started collecting vintage gaming stuff, but they were all good titles (including...

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
Not new, but I've been buying up a ton of NES games. Around 40 in the past month. Mostly B-list games that are fun but lesser known, as well as some titles for historical interest (Mach Rider). Ninja Crusaders and Monster in My Pocket are fun, for those that have never tried them. The rising values ...

Re: Opinions on the Everdrives?
I'd never seen Rose Colored Gaming before. I'm amazed they haven't seen any legal issues - they seem awfully high profile. Most of the reproduction sites are basically 1 guy working part in his basement. I guess it's such a small market it isn't worth the effort anymore? On another note, I wish more...

I like the idea of ZIF, the new cartridge connectors you can get are so stiff I worry about damaging the carts.

Re: Xbox One announcement
I might get a PS4 someday. But the licensing of games from Microsoft, a company I frankly don't really trust, is something that kills the system for me. That, and I don't need another media machine.
I'll also agree it doesn't really feel needed. Unmemorable jump.

Re: So Resident Evil 6... Not Excited?
The new CG movie is a hell of a lot better than the previous CG one. But that's all. It's a competent, mildly entertaining romp. Worth a watch for RE fans at least.

Re: So...the Wii U
Friend has it. Scribblenauts Unlimited is great. 3DS version lacks the object editor, which is really cool. ZombiU is entertaining, but not amazing - worth a play. Nintendo Land is very fun multiplayer, especially like Luigi's Mansion (a lot like Pac Man VS). Online community stuff thus far is bette...

Re: Wii-U Pre-orders
That sounds brutal Fiddler. Funny, friend of mine works in a bar they keep messing up his pay, and I thought that was bad. At least it was an accident.
But yeah, I'm not working at all. Have a second interview today though! If I get the job, may just keep the Wii U.

Re: Crazy Taxi - iPhone/iPad - $4.99 - Original soundtrack b
Yeah, Crazy Taxi required VERY FAST controls. I think it'd be borderline unplayable for me with touch controls.
