I dunno if Divx ever was forbidden, we just never talked about it for a few reasons: A. Gyplay Never supported Divx. B. Previous attempts at dcdivx FAILED. HORRIBLY. C. We made fun of people who brought up divx dc questions (or at least I think i did) Bouncer, I got a post comin in a sec here with s...

Look, as far as the average joe is concerned, 320x240 will probably look better than most vhs movies, especially if the source was a dvd. Stupid resolutions aside, I see some good questions have been raised. Divx is now talked about here because this is divx 4 based, not the illegal divx 3 based. Di...

Yes yes, we're always glad to see legal genesis emulators. Best of luck, and remember, there are a lot of douchebags out there who will always moan aboot "wah it's not done yet wah my sister won't marry me", but screw them, bunch of lazy donothings.

Good Luck and Godspeed,

Fathead, P.I.

I think Sega of Japan is a big limey douchbag. Bailing out aside, I think they screwed themselves with their crappy business planning. If they had any brains at all, they would have had the sega net service out from the get-go, and made the dc play saturn titles. Online play should have been out fro...

Wow, could dr z be using sarcasm? I can't tell, because as someone pointed out to me, sarcasm comes out great in plain text. And I'm sure he'd be glad to know someone was getting use out of his work and was greatful for it, legal or not.

Okay I tried using VDub's filter to resize. I used one of the medium settings for quality, think precise bicubic. The redub cut the file size in half, but bitrate only got down to ~450 bps, so still about 75 bps higher than I'm currently aiming for. Since the origianl file was kinda fuzzy, I was sur...

you know, I just had a thought. Maybe we could cut some of the quality loss if we did a 2 pass resize, wherein the first pass downsized the movie, and the second pass cut into the bitrate? If you did a 2 pass mode it would be a 3 pass process, but it could be worth it if you could noticibley cut qua...

If you're really paranoid, when you birn a cd-r, start using dummy files set to lower file priority to fill up the rest of your disc space. I hear its supposed to speed some things up (like loading roms, etc). There's an article on it over in the faq section.

I usualy only put aboot 50-60 roms on a cd, cus all i usually play is megaman x, rock and roll racing (the greatest 16 bit game ever created), monopoly, gundam wing edless duel, and maybe i'll give chronotrigger a try since i've been meaning too and hearing it's great.

IF Sega had the balls to make another platform, and IF they sold it at the right price, and IF they got behind it and put out good games AND dev kits for all to use, I would gladly buy another Sega console. I have owned a sega genesis with the 32x, i still have my saturn, and i will always have my d...
