DrFreeze, that was the reason why they were blowing, and why I will just use electrical tape to seperate the cd-rom from the mobo, then hot glue so key spots to lift it up a little. I just fixed the other fuse today, and it is working perfectly now. mattthemodder, maybe the psx's do, but the newer P...

yah, i thought of that as I was driving to radio shack. I ended up getting only a 2amp fuse. Installed it, powered on a couple times (not hooked to a tv) and all was fine. Then popped on the metal shielding and cd-rom, and blew another [different] fuse (son of a....). Argh, i will just electrical ta...

psone, dead fuse. Need a little insight
I was attempting a case mod and I bumped the PSOne laser lens on accident. I went to see if the ps1 still read games without struggling, but it didn't even turn on. I found out that one of the fuses have blown, but cannot find it anywhere to buy. The fuse is labled "PS600" on the main boar...

:) Well, you needn't a CAD machine and machinary for the case. Just some dimensions and a home made plastic vaccum form table. If you have a shop vac, a cookie sheet to poke holes in, and a frame to put the plstic in while you melt it in an oven, then creativity is the hardest part (in making the ca...

Battery power for psx?
Hello. I was thinking about doing a portable ps1 mod, and was wondering if anyone knows what type of battery pack I should use. I have read that camcorder batteries work well, but have seen some that costed a hefty price. The battery will also be powering an LCD screen (5") that I have not yet ...

Read the first sentance to see what drive it is. As for repairing, do what said above about pot tweaking. If all fails, buy a new laser. Llama is about $30, ebay is probably a lil cheaper than that. I would not recommend selling it in any case, I cannot believe people even recommended it. The...

firmware hacks? xbox-scene mustn't even know about them. I know about the samsung drive firmware hack, but it is a modification of the original xbox samsung firmware, which only allows you to upgrade to a better samsing dvd drive, which won't work in a PC. Im think I am going to look into this. lant...

I actually updated from xbmp today. This is what I did. First, make a folder called whatever (mine was shoutcast). Pop all your shoutcast files in there. The xbmc server has a zip file of about 900 sc files, split up into the music genre folder (like pop, rock, techno tec...). Then, put it on your x...
