Well, I just had to vote for DivX because I can have more pr0n on 1 single CD, hehe. Seriously, I only really use GypPlay to watch music videos, so I can perhaps triple the amount of videos on each disc with Div-X.

I think it may be a good idea to create some sort of guide on how to re-encode Div-X files. If this Div-X player emerges, some people will be screaming, how do I do this? How do I do that? MPEG files are a doddle to re-encode, but Div-X seems to be a different ball game.

It depends how well an e-mail is worded. If I was to send him mail, I would congratulate him on such a fine emu in Kega and then ask if there was any chance of a DC port in the future. I will not mail him though because I'm guessing many people probably already have.

No, original GD-ROMs shouldn't damage the laser. Rumour has it that using CD-Rs (warezed games, emus or apps) could bugger the laser up, but I have yet to hear anyone say that this has caused their DC to go wrong.

I tried Sonic CD with Kega and never noticed any sound issues, that emu rocks ass! I have yet to try any Megadrive/Genesis games with it yet. I bought a second hand Sega CD with 5 games for ?15 and I don't have a megadrive to connect it to, so I just had to try the CDs in Kega. Road Avenger doesn't ...

The only problem is having to re-encode at a lower bit-rate but by my calculations it should be possible to fit 2 full length movies on 1 disc very easily and all this at a similar quailty to MPEG-1.

thanks, I'll download and have a play. Needed something to decode & then re-encode Div-X files at a lower rate, but I'll hold on to see how this Div-X player progresses before I play around.

To be honest I would say that's the case for most of us in a way. For example if I decided I wanted to buy Sonic The Hedgehog for the Megadrive/Genesis then I would have a very hard time finding it. In fact I went into a second-hand game store last week and didn't see one MD game at all. And what is...

You would need to rip your DVDs and convert the files to MPEG1 format and use with GypPlay.
