I never talked about the medical merits of weed. It's a fact that smoking weed will fudge up your lungs if you do it for long enough. Eating the stuff or taking it from a bong? I don't know. I'm not arguing with you, skater_dusto. I'm pissed that you assumed a bunch of poop and flamed me. There's n...

The whole ideology wiih "if you have to be intoxicated to have a good time, you've got a problem" ideology is damn near dead, and if you so much as utter it you are a class one reject. No one needs to, they want to. In moderation you can have a ton of fun and not wreck your life, even old...

If anyone desides to drink, be careful. A girl that I sort of knew that graduated a few years ahead of me died in a drunk driving accident 2 days ago. Funny how that doesn't stop anyone. I'm pretty sure most people here know more people who have died in alcohol-related accidents than people who hav...

I hate flash sites with a passion. Flash is okay for content ( when appropriate ), but if a site uses it for navigation I usually just leave. What's the snag? There's a good chance it's a sign that you should reconsider your design, rather than "fix" it with flash. It isn't so much "...

Flash-based Websites

I'm designing a website for a project that I'll call secret for the time being, but am running into a few design snags. One of these snags is making me consider something I personally loath...making a flash-based site. So, what do you think? Are flash sites good, bad, or are you indifferent?

I don't drink. All my friends are getting drunk tonight and tomorrow night, but I try to stay as squeaky clean as possible. I've never had alcohol except for a couple beers (a couple in my entire life) and I remember them tasting like piss. If it takes that to get drunk then it's just not worth it ...

Yea, people apparently don't like to read the word "Mac."

Anyway, Popcorn seems to work fine, and honestly, if I didn't know I compressed the video, I wouldn't be able to tell anyway.

Thank you all (well, those who didn't try to give me a Windows solution)

Yea, I was using MacTheRipper to rip, but I have a few DVDs where just the main feature is 7G (Star Wars for example, or LotR). I'm not sure how to get FFMpegX to split them, though I suppose I should look into that.

Worst case, how much is the video affected by a compression of that sort?

DVD ripping

Sorry if this is considered warez. Anyway, I'm sitting here trying to backup my DVDs to avoid scratches on the originals and I ran into a glitch. I only have 4.7G DVD-Rs, but some of my movies are 7G. Now, yes, I could compress them, but I'd rather split them into separate discs. My question is &quo...

Voyager was built on a shoe string budget to I read some where that Nasa wanted triple the budget for it the big wigs said no so they built a lot of the systems with parts that were readily available. It amazing that we could build something like this so cheaply and have it still working today and ...

Yes, it's easily possible, but it depends on who's swinging the sledge. Pretty much anything is breakable with one swing of a sledge if you know how to swing it.

I have a Sony NetMD player and a 256MB Muvo. Only reason I bought the muvo is because you can't get NetMD to work with Macs. Well, that and the horrible transfer rates with the MD.
