Check the CD-R compatibility page - the model number and manufacture date is what matters, not the packaging. There are Sports Pack DC's that do and Sports Pack DC's that do not work with the CD-R booting procedure.

One thing to bear in mind is that unlike Quake , whose modifications ran using a non-platform specific bytecode file (progs.dat), Quake II 's modifications were platform specific (i.e., .DLL's for Windows, .SO files for Linux, etc.) so even if a port of Quake II does get pulled off you won't be able...

The one thing I've learned in my job is that anything is possible, given enough power and programming. Ergo, "emulating a PlayStation game" is possible on the Dreamcast - we witnessed this with the three Bleem entries. However, "emulating a PlayStation" is still questionable. It'...

It would be easier to take the source code of your favorite DOS program and port it instead (witness: DOOM, Wolfenstein, etc.) DOS was more a matter of a command line and a designation of drive letters. Windows is more like an all-encompassing system. With DOS you had to write to the hardware (the s...

Well if you think about it, the emu usually runs full speed with sound off and doesn't when you have sound off. 0.95 has an assembly graphics core so it makes sense that the sound core isn't assembly. Perhaps when the sound core is assembly then 100% speed will be attained.

I seem to recall hearing that, as part of their new platform agnostic staregy, Sega was planning on releasing certian classic old Saturn games on the PlayStation, and "Panzer Dragoon" was specifically mentioned. I've heard nothing of it since then and given that the PSX is pretty much a de...

and my main concern is with how they look within the nesterdc rom selection list Well, kinda bad really. For example Super Mario Bros (U) (H1).nes comes out as SUPER_MARIO_BROS__U___H1_.NES Spaces and parenthesis are converted to underscores. Not a big deal, except at the end where the length might...

Yeah this is the antithesis of the DreamSNES team's release mojo. Yeah it was the MMC5 chip, which wasn't used in any other games and not even in the Japanese version of Punch-Out. 1997 would be a dubious year, since 1994 was the last NES game published by Nintendo ( Wario's Woods ) and 1995 was the last commercial unlicensed game ( Sunday Funday ). Either you spo...

Also, VideoCD (VCD)'s have a special format to them - the files have to be named a certian way and the directories have to be laid out a certian way - or else your VCD player (DVD player, DC VCD player) won't show them as VCD's. Nero can do this for you, as do some other CD Burning packages. Also, t...
