The First Rule of the DreamSNES forum is...

Do not ask the following question: "When is the next version of DreamSNES coming out?" The answer is: When it's finished. And no, no one knows when that is. DreamSNES has had three versions released: 0.92, 0.93 and 0.94. While each had improvements upon the previous (mostly in the area of ...

For what it's worth I was attempting to defend Rand's silence on Bleem's demise and to keep people from pestering you personally regarding anything you might have.

And it's not a fruit flavored beverage in there - it's much worse. Trust me.

I believe Ghost quite literally lives close to Rand and David, so it was more of a drive than possession. It's possible that he may have had a CD copy to play at home as a Beta, but I wouldn't be surprised if the CD had that next-to-impossible protection on it. Rand's made a scant few posts on this ...

Actually, wasn't Bleemcast always supposed to be at Fry's? I think the deal was that it took longer to get stock to Fry's (EB came first), so it's not that Fry's "suddenly" started supporting Bleem.

One of the disadvantages of writing for a closed hardware platform is the fact that the hardware can't be scaled. You can write a PSX emulator for the PC in C or some other slow portable language and simply tell the world to buy a faster computer. However on the DC you can't do that. Ergo, unless yo...

Napster is coming back (in 2003?) but the only files available will be an encrypted file format called .NAP - not sure of all the details of how it will work but it will be a subsciption based service and the .NAP files will only work on the computer that downloaded them. Napster as you knew it is d...

I know why (spoilers ahead...) SPOILERS: The HIDEO screen is a gag placed there by the developers. Know how Psycho Mantis is supposed to "read your mind" (read the memory card)? Well one of the things he can supposedly "do" is fuck up your TV. On Sony brand TV's if you have a PSX...

Man and after all that shit you went through to get it, too... OK, first things first Is the disc clean? Is the DC laser clean? How do other discs (BC, legit GD's, burned emulators) run RIGHT NOW? Does the bcMGS disc look fucked up? Does the bcMGS disc work on the DC of anyone else you know of? Schn...

I'm confused again. Are you talking about a good WWF game ever or just on the Dreamcast? You do know that no one is developing for the Dreamcast anymore, right? No more games. Check this page - that's it. No more. Nothing. Kaput. Short of a homebrew game or an emulator there will never be any more D...

Well BleemDirect went down with the Bleem ship, so no Bleem isn't selling Bleemcast, but EB still has stock.

More importantly he recently posted to lay rest to any speculation of Bleemcast being released in any free or open source form.

Shortly after the DC was "abandoned", Sega said they were going to release an SDK dealie for homebrew developers that would let them make games and even be able to distrivute them (somehow) for the small fee of $5,000. Think the new "Yarouze" program for the DC. I'm not sure if i...

Perhaps I've missed your point, but WWF: Attitude was released for the Dreamcast in late 1999 or early 2000.

If you'll recall Bleem planned on making a "Bleempad" which was a PSX-style pad. They actually had some other company conjure up a prototype and the protocols for it. It never saw the light of day but the three Bleemcast discs did have support for it, in case it ever did. In theory if Lik-...

It's true that there are already lots of fighting games and racing games on DC, but the main "point" of Bleem was the princple of the the thing - the notion of pulling a PSX disc out of your DC was just too cool. But yeah the scene sorta realizes that there is such a thing as a 100% speed ...

The main leg Sony had to stand on was that PlayStation was a brand name of theirs and Bleem was someone besides Sony making money off of the PlayStation brand. They claimed that Bleem had violated Sony patents by creating Bleem. Also, since BleemPC wasn't perfect, Sony claimed that Bleem was decreas...
