Hey Toastman, I just had a look at the source... I'm seeing some definate improvement there in the readability dept. for sure. All the PVR functions I had written for the BMF lib were very hacked together. It's nice to see something that isn't so hacked up. I had intended that code to become a lot m...

Yeah, the AICA firmware from the Katana R10 and later devkits, that knows how to use the 128-bit DSP in the AICA, is being reversed by a couple of guys. I'm not sure how their progress is going, but they had identified a bunch of previously undocumented registers that take care of all the MIDI effec...

The latest reverse engineering of the sound synth in the AICA could make sound emulation of most platforms a lot less CPU intensive. I will probably update FrNES with it when it's finished.

My current goal is to do a TG16 emu for DC/PS2/PC once I get my degree finished. The graphics renderer of the TG is pretty similar to the NES so I'll probably do it straight in assembly again on the DC version... but I want to do a PS2 version as well, and I'm not getting a PS2 until I graduate (thi...

Hi there, Just to clarify a couple of things: I have extensively tested those games (1943 + Ducktales among others) and I stand by my claim that they work 60fps, with sound, at least on the version I was using prior to release. Unfortunately, something happened when the .elf executable (which I use ...

Heyas, The ZSNES team have no intent as far as I know to port to DC. That codebase is 5 years old, and has been worked on nearly continuously. I think a step that needs to be taken is a commenting process, whereby the ZSNES source has detailed comments as to it's operation put together, and a series...

If you're fluent enough in X86 Assembly language, and SH4 assembly language, it really wouldn't be that bad... the x86 code is well documented and organized.

As well, pallettized textures are supported as well, in color depths of 8, 16, and 32 bits. They currently aren't supported in KOS, but are of interest if memory bandwidth is extremely tight.

If people are persisting with problems, I would ask that someone else make new Nero and DJ images, and I will replace them with ones people haven't had problems with. I have heard of some people not having any luck with the Nero Image, and a few having problems with the DiscJuggler image (and more t...

A solution to this problem has been in the works since the first release (since many of my friends also like to drink and play NES at the same time). I will be releasing a font converter at the same time as the next release that will allow you to put your own fonts (anything the Windows font rendere...

I'd say yes (I got them for Christmas last year). They're an even better party game, mostly because it's impossible to look cool by shaking maracas around like a fool, whereas a DDR party can get killed by a master player who shows off...

Actually, programming SH4 on the DC is not that much of a pain at all (not too many opcodes, pretty straightforward). Interfacing an SH4 routine with a C program is pretty painless. I am going to write a tutorial on how to interface an SH4 routine to GCC on my website eventually. Anyways, I would re...

Your Shenmue I US savegame should work just fine. I got mine to work with import Shenmue II on the first try. Are you sure you're not just not using the interface right?? (Start New Game -> Use Clear File)

Hehe, under normal circumstances I probably couldn't have done it, but I was recently seriously injured and I have to spend 24 hours a day at home in my room (which makes for good game playing and emu development). 3 more weeks of it left, so I'm trying to make the most of it.

The source to Descent 1 + 2 are both readily available (released by the developer). Unfortunately, portions of both are in x86 asm... so unless you're willing to translate those bits to SH4 or C... you're outta luck.
