Gangstar rio https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iaxx2HgvI_Q Gangstar vegas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QE5q7QAKgc0 Here is another questioning pertaining to the skeletal animation. Wa...

Re: powervr2 limits
i'm guessing there are too many programming tricks that have been created since the dreamcast's demise. I was looking at some early iphone games and I was wondering whether if the dreamcast could run them. Here are two games that I think should be inside the dreamcast's range. Eternal legacy https:/...

What psp and ps2 games can be ported(let's imagine we have the source code)with ease? Isn't the psp and ps2 more advanced than the dreamcast?

dreamcast games shaders?
What would dreamcast games look like if they had shaders? How much better would these games look compared to unshaded dreamcast games? I already know dreamcast doesn't have shading capabilities so there is no need to explain to me.

Re: Shenmue and Shenmue 2 engine
Shenmue isn't an open-world engine. It's point-and-click adventure with Virtua Fighter strapped on. If Shenmue was going to be open world on the dreamcast what open world engine would you recommend ? Not entirely sure about your question. Making Shenmue open-world would completely redefine the game...

Re: powervr2 limits
I was on the sega 16 forums a little while ago and I was reading this ps2 vs Dreamcast thread where a former developer on both of the consoles stumbled on. He gave some interesting info about the dreamcast and goes by the username Rusty and wishes he had more time to work on it. He knew someone who ...

If the dreamcast lasted longer do you think the graphics would be comparable to a psp?

Re: powervr2 limits
So in terms of power the 6th gen would look like this: xbox>gamecube>ps2>psp>dreamcast
How much more powerful is the ps2 compared to the psp and dreamcast?

Re: powervr2 limits
I find that pretty surprising thinking a couple years afters the cancellation of the dreamcast a handheld already had surpassed it. The psp entered the market around 2003 and the dreamcast left in 2001. Isn't the dreamcast about half the power of a ps2?

Re: powervr2 limits
So I assume the dreamcast would look barely decent in a right taking in all this account only if the ps2 and gamecube have maximum performance or would look nearly the same? would the dreamcast version with fewer cutscenes be comparable same with this one It may seem like Im asking the same question...

Re: powervr2 limits
So instead of using extra polygons it would be better to use textures, bump mapping, and gouraud shading to make characters appear less blocky. But if that was done on a game would it make it less distinguishable from a ps2 or gamecube version of the same game? Would this be easier doing in Virtua fi...
