Re: Dreamcast N64 mod

From what I understand (which isn't a hell of a lot, honestly) N64 emulation is entirely possible for some of the smaller-sized N64 ROMs out there. The reason this hasn't happened is that: A) it won't be easy B) it would take a lot of time, which most DC dev'rs don't have C) you'd pretty much need a...

Re: Dreamplaces

So, do you think this means the DC could finally have a nextwork-compatible Quake engine?

Re: Chui's port of Neverball, a Super Monkey Ball clone

Whoa, I posted asking about a port of this here about a week ago, and here it is! I'm just gonna assume this happened because of me, regardless of whether I made any difference at all haha, it's good for my ego :D

An idea I had, that I might even go through with...

I was just thinking about the Sonic Adventure games and the updates to the Chao/A-Life systems that went into SA2:Battle and SA:DX. I also then realised that the ins and outs of the Chao save files for DC have been more or less figured out. So... I think I'm going to dedicate my free time to develop...

I wasn't sure where to put this...

...but I figured this was the best place to do so. I've had a ton of different questions/ideas, so I'll try to keep them all to the one thread. Please try to bear with me, and I'm sorry if anything I propose is beating a dead horse. ***Has anyone ever thought of making a game using the lightgun as a...

Re: Has anybody ever made it to Green Hill Zone on SA2?

I finally got my DC working again, fired up SA2 and... for some reason the game keeps freezing when Shadow fights Sonic after the White Jungle level and I can't get any further. Damn! Savefiles for me, I guess. Some warez copies have this problem when you set the audio to English, because the video...

Re: DC reset problem - n00b, please bear with me

Have you done any hardware modifications? If not check the orange cable from your fan to your controller port. Sounds like your system is rebooting cause it thinks your fan isn't spinning. Also one method that worked for a resetting DC was cleaning the contact pins on the power supply, the six pins...

DC reset problem - n00b, please bear with me

Recently my DC has started randomly resetting and giving me the "blue screen of death", which is totally annoying. After reading a few old posts I'm thinking it's due to badly packed homebrew stuff (most probably Quake stuff I was messing with) that made the laser move around more than is ...

Extract all files and create a new image. Doh! So obvious, yet I never would have thought of that. "Custom Levels" is a single player campaign, it shouldn't be used with DM-only maps. I haven't burned this yet 'cause I don't have enough space in my HD to recreate the image with the...

A couple more questions: I just downloaded the 10th anniversary Quake compile, and it's awesome! Looks so much better than nxMakaqu, which I didn't expect. As far as I'm concerned it's more or less perfect. That being said, I have a couple of queries: ***I used a program called "Iso-buster"...

I actually meant DreamSNES, I don't know what possessed me to write ZSnes, heh. I just had a though the other day about making a lightgun homebrew with a FPS engine, a kinda spiritual successor to House Of The Dead or something. My coding skills are next to non-existant so I doubt I'll ever get anyw...

A couple of questions/queries

*** I added a heap of mods in nxMakaqu a while ago, some work, some don't. Some, like MALICE, need the registered .paks as far as I can tell, but others have different errors. Then there's SHRAK, which was working fine until a point. Now, whenever it loads certain sound effects I get the message &qu...

Hiya, cool xmas gift! N00b here so bear with me: Do I need the registered Quake pak to play mods or expansion packs like Scorge Of Armagon with this release? Also, is there a comprehensive list of mods that will actually work with this release or do I have to just try them out and hope for the best?...

DCPlaya

Hi, long time lurker, first time poster! This is a cool community and it's great to see just how much people can get from their Dreamcast when they try. I downloaded and successfully burned a copy of DCPlaya about two months ago and I have to say, it's great! You might wanna change the description a...
