Just for the record, there were two entirely different GD-ROM units shipped. One being connected via Ribbon, and the other connected by a solid edge connector. Interchangeability between the two is not possible.

Keep in mind that the CPU is rated for a maximum operating speed of 200 MHz. Although it will run higher, stability will begin to vary depending on it's threshold.

Morphv2, what revision of dreamcast do you have? I assume it isn't a version 2 if you are hitting 270 MHz.

I've never been able to push a rev 2 DC past ~220 MHz.
