I'm happy to see that so many of you have been able to overclock your dreamcasts successfully. Aside from the usual revision incompatibilities, it seems to be luck of the draw as to which systems will be stable, and which ones will not. You just have to try it for yourself to find out! Just for the record, there were two entirely different GD-ROM units shipped. One being connected via Ribbon, and the other connected by a solid edge connector. Interchangeability between the two is not possible.

Keep in mind that the CPU is rated for a maximum operating speed of 200 MHz. Although it will run higher, stability will begin to vary depending on it's threshold.

I've never found a Rev 0 dreamcast to test unfortunately. I've found 7321037 revision 1s and 3 rev 2s.

Hi there don't know much about overclocking a dc, so how do you know if you have successfully overclocked a dc apart from the game speed and is it true that you can't use your vmu once your dc has been overclocked? Morphv2, what revision of dreamcast do you have? I assume it isn't a version 2 if you are hitting 270 MHz.

Digikey.com sells them, but if you want to go absolutely cheap, you can salvage them from old circuit boards.
