Controller port problem with the "pins"

after doing that controller led mod, i unfortunately stabbed the 3rd pin of each controller port in. So now i cant control anything when the dreamcast is on with 1st, 2nd and 4th port. (3rd is the only port with the 3rd pin up, but this one works so i concluded it was the pin that was the problem) n...

Re: VGA Box into PC Input Plasma

PC input can support: 640 * 400 @ 70hz (im not sure but ...dots????) 640 * 480 @60hz ....etc i think dc has a max resolution of one of those. however it says that it does not support 480i (60hz) and 480p (60hz) ok, and what is odd is ...

Re: VGA Box into PC Input Plasma

lol yeah my plasma is 50inch :D rez is awesome! but referring to the other article, so i need a tv that can interpret the vga signal through component and relalign to a proper component? If so, is the quality still as good as the maximum display of a dc? seriously, those transcoders....man..expensiv...

Re: Has anybody ever made it to Green Hill Zone on SA2?

VGA Box into PC Input Plasma

The pc input for my plasma doesn't support 480p :( , but it explains in the manual that is supports dots...720 * 480 or something similar. When i place my dc in the pc input via vga the picture quality is pretty terrible, dots everywhere, but the colour is ok. Normally, the tv would detect it automc...

Re: Verifying Power Board Replacement/Rumble pack feel decreaser

thanks. It was the common resistor problem on the controller port board. Instead of replacing it with a new resister, i simply put a wire across. Also, the main led, isn't connected directly to the board anymore. I stuffed that part up, so i had to connect the led to the 3.3 power supply directly. I...

Verifying Power Board Replacement/Rumble pack feel decreaser

Ive got a ntsc dreamcast from the us. Of course, now that im in aus i have to use a step down transformer which is ridiculous if i wanted to bring my dc anyway. I bidded on a broken aus dreamcast (gd rom stuffed) and im planning to use that powerboard with my us dreamcast. Im just curious if this is...

when you guys say sync vmu, i assume it means that the dc can still read information from the vmu, but it cant show pictures or give sounds with the games. right?

if 270mhz works, then excellent. thats my next project...just waiting for the video.

no luck with checking the wires normally. so i decided to get my extension cord, and connect using that assuming their was some internal messup within my normal wire. so i connected all the coloured wires to their corresponding metal on the extension using the sites info. now, the vmu sounds on in t...

well i guess it would be much more complicated to make a different coding for each different game then to make an emulator for all games. then again, it its just for one game (sonic cd!) then i agree. (i dont have much experience with this programming stuff, honestly) not to nag, but is there anyone...

controller help

a controller of mine seems quite dodgy. it only works when the controller is an awkward position, like upside down or on the side. so when it works the dc responds to the buttons, and the vmu turns on. so i openned it, and i swiched the main wire with another one from another controller and i realiz...

you know, its still amazing that someone as young as yourself would still be into dreamcast. i assumed all of you people were born into the dark sony era and the sight of a dc would make you wonder "what? sega made consoles?"

mmm..

yeah that happned to me. if all else fails, simply hook the main led directly to the 3.3v power supply which is what i did. i too probably screwed up my board with my soldering skills but im not worrying bc it works fine now.

the led could be stuffed.
