Re: Compiling?

If they had .java and .class files, it would be a Java program, not C++.

Re: Loading from /cd and /pc

What type of connection are you using? If it is the plain old serial port coders cable, then obviously it will be rather slow... (for example the 1.2MB music file will take at least two minutes to load at 112KBit/s).

This procedure worked for me (pretty similar to Marcuses): http://curmudgeongamer.com/article.php? ... 5232756356
Boths pages won't give you a way to create an easy to distribute/burn image though :-/

Re: KGL-X where to find it ?

It seems like KGL-X is colliding with the "stock" KGL. Try removing "kos-ports/include/GL/*" and "kos/addons/lib/dreamcast/libgl.a" first and then start over with installing/compiling KGL-X.

Re: Last Hope: Pink Bullets for Dreamcast available for preorder

Yep, although PlayAsia sold it for $60 and redspotgames lowered the price when they sold the remaining stock at ebay. I think that price would refer to the limited edition that included the soundtrack CD and other extras? I remember paying ~€30 for the regular edition... Doesn't stop the pric...

Cool!

Are there plans to release code for this? I have experimented with maple bus myself before
but did not get very far. I still have an FPGA board lying around that is waiting to be used again :)

Geberland

Jeeba Land is Geberland in German with a Berlin accent!

In your circuit what IC you used for the Interface Switiching (buffer tri-state?) And how did you wired it ? 74VHC244, just like in Chaos's original schematic: http://f17.aaa.livedoor.jp/~takotako/dcserial_ft232bm.php (3rd schematic, titled "Dreamcast Serial Port Adaptor (for FT232BM base unit...

Re: Dreamcast SD adapter by EmuForge

Anyone knows if the connector can be bought out of any manufacturer like molex or something? I doubt that. I once inquired to Tyco about the G2 bus connector (Modem, BBA etc.). It was a proprietary part made exclusively for SEGA and not available to the public. You could try to get it made custom b...

kohan69 wrote:But why SD? Why not a USB 1.1 host device with FAT16/32 suport :?:
Because it is *way* easier to hook up an SD card to the serial port (pretty much just straight wiring!) than to implement a USB host controller.

Re: Dreamcast SD adapter by EmuForge

I'm really not sure that assembling these things for selling is the correct way of going about it, to me that serves only one purpose - and that's aiding the distribution of warez (no matter how good the original intentions are). Call me a sceptic if you want, but what other purpose would the end u...

Well, I guess I'm glad I already bought the parts to do this mod. Did they get jj1odm's permission? I don't think they would have to. AFAIK jj1odm has not published any code, but only an executable of the ripping utility he wrote. He also published his schematic, which is probably too trivial to cl...

I'm looking to two alternative usb - serial adapters the uUSB-MB5 converter pros : .Very small (probably it may fit inside the dreamcast) .TX, RX already at 3.3v levels Cons: .No RI signal (according to chaos schematics, its not required for the dc.) .No external clock signal (although the USB conv...

Re: Issues compiling a sdl program on KOS

PS. Then I use the "romdisk aproach", are the files on the bootdisk placed on ram when the code is loaded ? Can't i have a "iso9660" filesystem? Yes and yes: - The romdisk image is embedded in your executable, and therefore loaded into RAM. - You can also use an ISO filesystem.
