Re: Need British help (BBC Office)

That song/thing was also featured in a Levis jeans commercial at the time, where the monkey was rocking out in the car. Like any artist featured in Levis jeans commercials, not much was heard of Mr Oizo ever since. Anyone remember Stiltskin, Babylon Zoo, Smoke City, etc? Their advertising acency mus...

Re: Alternative "xfer card". Use serial adapter on max3222

The source code in that archive is only for the serial slave and the exe uploader, but not for the gscc software. You could start the .bin on the DC with the usual methods (serial cable, BBA, burn to CDROM), but it is not clear if you can configure it (and the PC software) to work with a "stand...

Meawhile kids get their face burned off in Iraq. Well I guess she has a right to be upset, she isn't really a douche but rather a cunt. If they told her that, her head would probably explode ;)

Re: Help Please?!

Windows CE has nothing to do with the Windows you run on your PC. Even if you obtained a copy of the Dreamcast version (which you cannot legally do), it would be of little use to you, as there exists no software to run on it. Also the dreamcast does not have any sane way to hook up a harddisk.

Re: Help Please?!

Short answer: forget about it. Long answer: There exist standalone web browsers for DC, but they cannot downloading anything (no harddrive!), no Flash/Java/Javascript/Video (forget Gmail, Youtube etc). If you're in it for the nerd factor, you could try the Unix way: Use Dreamcast Linux or NetBSD. Te...

Re: Dreamcast Serial Port Overclock?

The SH4's serial port can be supplied with an external clock (24MHz oscillator on the DC to USB converter). Since it is difficult to find a baud rate that is matched by both the default SH4 ones and the USB serial port chips, this feature is used to force the SH4's serial port to a baud rate that is...

Re: Cave Story

Best homebrew game ever! There is a port to SDL going on at the moment. The problem is that the original author Pixel, while giving out the source code to certain port efforts, does not want the source code to be redistributed. He gave the source code to a guy doing an SDL-based GameCube port , and ...

Re: BBS: The documentary

I watched it in the meantime. Good stuff. Great characters in there. We first got a modem when the Internet started to take of, and so I really missed the BBS era. I have maybe dialed into 10 BBSes total in my life, and I could totally identify with the "newbie meets sysop" segment in epis...

Re: Help with Qbasic homework

QBasic was included in later MS-DOS versions. It was a "lite"-version of Quickbasic, which in turn was the predecessor to Visual Basic. The biggest difference to "classic" basic interpreters was its nice IDE, and (as far as I remember) better support for structured programming an...

Re: How to play imported Dreamcast games

For me, the only bootdisk that worked reliably for my imports was DC-X. When I recently got a second Dreamcast, I immediately did the Region Changer mod on my old one. With a little soldering experience, it is quite easy to do. I used the v1.7 software to change the region to Japan and it worked fin...
