Re: MadWorld
Hmm, I did not like the controls much in NMH. The fights (especially the bosses) always just had me shaking the controller around wildly, with no feel of precision at all. The driving part was even more frustrating. You cannot take any corner with that monstrosity of a bike, and the gas - brake - ga...

Re: I'm so happy.
Ah fair enough. Back when HL2 came out I couldn't stand steam. I thought it was the worst idea for distributing games. Now it works very nicely. Hehe, I still remember when my brother came home from the store with that game. Three hours later I went to check it out... he was still installing it, cu...

Re: Help: Best sound performance for DC?
The PVR API is probably a lot more simple than you think, and in my opinion the performance benefit is well worth the extra effort it takes to implement a PVR backend.Neoblast wrote:Making a whole pvr engine out of nothing sure is tedious.

so it uses the 2MB from it? i heard kos did not use the aica, that it was the sh4 taking care of everything. Crap Of course it uses it, what i MEANT WAS the arm. Kos uses the Arm to run a simple firmware that implements a multi-channel stream output. I always thought it would be interesting to run ...

Re: ScummVM compile with DC Dev ISO R4?
I gave it another try yesterday and built a new non-KOS-based toolchain. With it I re-compiled libmad and libronin and then successfully compiled scummvm. I have not tested it yet though. Here are some instructions. Note that these are not complete and not guaranteed to work. I did this on a Debian ...

Re: ScummVM compile with DC Dev ISO R4?
I don't think you will succeed building scummvm with one of the commonly used toolchains. I gave it a quick try, and the libraries don't seem to be compatible to the toolchain I'm using (linker says, the .a files have an unknown format - toolchain is 'standard' KOS dc-chain). Also I don't think that...

This is in America. It says Holland TOWNSHIP. Anyways businesses have the right to refuse service for whatever reason they like No they don't. Indeed; this is a common myth, mostly spread by small business owners who post those obnoxious signs. Most obviously, the Civil Rights Act of 1968 and the A...

Re: Makefile issues
Also make sure that you really pick the right library to link. "-lSDL" will link to libSDL.a, which is usually the one from kos-ports. I think Chui's version is called something like libSDL_129.a or similar, so use "-lSDL_129" (same applies to the rest of those libs, Chui renamed...

Re: waitpid, pipe - libc???
Hmm, I have only had a very brief look at the source code, but it seems that there only is only ONE pipe. BUT... SDL Go is just a graphical interface to GNU Go, which is executed as a seperate process and communicated with using said pipe. So a straight port of SDL Go is pretty much impossible since...

Re: waitpid, pipe - libc???
KOS does not implement all Unix/Posix/etc. system calls. As far as I know, KOS does not have any concept of processes, only threads, so no process related system calls are implemented. Look at the code and try to find out why they are using processes and pipes in the first place. Then see if you can...

Re: Confused with SDL
Chui's version is more recent and contains some optimizations, as well as the additional SDL_* libraries, so I'd recommend using them instead of those from kos-ports.

Re: Shell scripting question
For auto-starting the script look at your Desktop environment if it lets you specify custom applications to start when certain media types are inserted (I think KDE lets you customize this, don't know about Gnome). Also there is software like ivman that also provides the HAL event handling functiona...
