Re: dc-tool and network enabled code

Out of interest how do you debug low-level stuff on the dc? On the Amiga I would simply write to the hardware colour registers (maybe in a small loop, or wait for the start of a frame) and I'd see a flicker of colour. But I'm kinda stuck on the dc. The easiest way is using a serial cable, and loadi...

Re: dc-tool and network enabled code

Thanks for the info BlueCrab. I'm using lwip. Latest svn version of KOS. Good to know I haven't managed to break lwIP. (actually it doesn't work at all now, I've broke something!) Well, my quick rdesktop port does crash after a while  So I guess there are a couple of solutions: - Try to...

Re: dc-tool and network enabled code

Thanks for the info BlueCrab. I'm using lwip. Latest svn version of KOS. If I understand correctly KOS internal networking and lwip cannot both be used at the same time? It looks like KOS only supports UDP. So I guess there are a couple of solutions: - Try to get dcload-lwip working (it's in the 1.2...

dc-tool and network enabled code

Hi dreamcast gurus, After playing with dc development over the years with a slow serial cable I finally bought a broadband adapter. Works great. I just compiled insight (gdb gui) which is really, really cool. One question: does anyone know why network code on the kos is not compatible with the '-n' ...

I sometimes get stuff sent to my work address if it's a large item. Otherwise I have to go to the post office to pick it up.

Re: U.K. schoolgirl loses 'virginity ring' court battle

It's sad they have nothing better to do then sit in court and fight about a girl wearing a ring. Just let her wear the fucking ring, if she jabs somebody's eye out with it then ok, by all means take her to court. But until then get a life. My thoughts exactly. How much money was wasted on this case...

Re: Bios as boot loader?

I then found out that Vista has a whole new file system, and that you can't resize any Vista partitions with conventional partitioning tools.
AFAIK Vista still uses NTFS. I've got VIsta & XP installed on my work PC and XP can see the Vista partition no problem.

It depends... PAL games can be faster in an emulator because there are less screen updates per second. It's easier to emulate, simple as that. So if a game is emulated at 90% speed the chances are that a PAL version will reach 100%. However, on original hardware NTSC games are normally faster as con...

You can buy a serial cable from Lik-Sang. Not too expensive and LS are pretty reliable. There is an ethernet adapter but they're very rare. Serial is slow, but depends what you want to do really. Some people will say it's too slow for dev stuff but I find it OK. Official games were written with the ...

Turrican 1 & 2 pushed the Amiga to it's limits so are hard to emulate. p.s. BlackAura, not all A500's had 1.3. The A500+ at least came with 2.0. My A500 (1989?) came with kickstart 1.2 but workbench 1.3. Should really reserect the old Amiga some day. I've got an A4000 in bits, packed in a cardbo...

Wow, Deluxe Paint! The king of pixel paint programs :-) Do you run it on an Amiga or are you running it under emulation? (on a DC :-)

V3 was better than V4 IMHO!

I use the following in my Makefile (Cygwin here):

run: $(TARGET).bin
dc-tool.exe -b 115200 -c . -x "$(TARGET).bin"

The '-c' argument tells dc-tool to use the current folder.

How are you opening the file in DJ? If you are double clicking on the CDI file try instead running DJ first and then opening the CDI with the File..Open menu.

For me DJ often crashes if I click on a .CDI file.

Excelent news! I burnt a pre-3 CD with 100s of ROMs yesterday. Many work fine, but some hang the emulator (and I found it doesn't like really long filenames :(). Not to bothered about the menu really, it's the games I want to play :-) I've got a coders cable on order from Lik-Sang. Never done any DC...
