Re: The new Sonic is here
It's so hilariously awful, I can't stop laughing. Even better Jim Carrey is going to be Robotnik.

Re: changing names of files for GDmenu
I didn't know that gdmenu for the dreamcast had a builder. The saturn does I think. Will that one work with the dreamcast version?

Re: Questions about Installing KOS
For some reason I can't run examples from the SD Card reader. I try to load the cdi file with dreamshell and the machine just resets. Should I try creating an ISO image instead? It works fine with GDEMU.

changing names of files for GDmenu
Hi guys, I recently got a GDEMU board for my Dreamcast, and I noticed that when I loaded up homebrew games I built with bootdreams all the names of the images are "Bootdreams" regardless of what the name of the image is on the SD Card. Does anybody know a way to alter these names or get Bo...

Re: Questions about Installing KOS
I'm going to continue putting random questions about kos here for now. Anyway, I've been looking at the examples and I don't see any routines for frame buffering or vsync. Are these handled by KOS internally?

Re: Questions about Installing KOS
Sorry, to be correct. I was installing from the SF repository. I generally associated Git with git hub. I didn't know you could use it with SF too. I guess I wasn't paying attention. I'm going to re-check my library dependencies to make sure I have them, and try a clean install. Does anyone know a w...

Re: Questions about Installing KOS
Hello again, I'm trying to build the tools using the link you gave. I'm building from the github source files, but I get an error when I try to install the kos toolchain. This is the output I got the second time I tried to run the make file in /opt/toolchains/dc/kos/utils/dc-chain after running down...

Re: Questions about Installing KOS
Thanks a lot. That clears up a lot of misunderstandings I had. I was under the impression that cross compiling would be tied to the system's GCC like different modules for a single program. And thanks for the link. I was using this one: http://gamedev.allusion.net/softprj/kos/setup.php It's linked f...

Questions about Installing KOS
Hello, I was thinking of trying some dreamcast dev again. It's been over ten years (I've gotten so old) since I fooled around with it, and in that time I've switched from being a windows user to linux. I'm still a little green about some aspects of Linux, though, and in the installation guide on the...

Re: Arcade controller stick input
That's what I was wanting to know. Thanks for that. My plan is to use the cheap interact controller to make a custom arcade stick, but I wanted to be sure what the joystick was connected to.

Arcade controller stick input
Can anyone tell me what the dreamcast arcade stick is using to drive joystick input? Is it the analog stick or the d-pad? The reason I ask is because I have a cheap interact controller that lets you switch between four and six button modes, and playing Gunbird 2 I noticed that different things worke...

Time for a necro post. I just found out about this and flipped out. Thanks to the devs for letting this happen. It's good to be a Dreamcast fan.

OK thanks a lot for that. I was thinking you needed all those for some reason. It just dawned on me they were probably optional.

make error no makefile found in kos-ports
Hey guys, I'm trying to build a tool chain using the directions from this thread on Neo Gaf and the Kallistios setup instructions on it's main page: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=916501 http://gamedev.allusion.net/softprj/kos/setup.php Everything works great until I get to the end and...

Re: Code::Blocks - DC Dev R1 *refixed*
I'm having trouble getting the parallax examples to compile. I get errors like "undefined reference to '_arch_real_exit'" for most things and some things wont even compile. In the raster_melt demo the linker can't find the romdisk.o file. Would you care to take a look? I'm guessing some of...

I have to admit I was a little underwhelmed at first also, but the more I play it the more I like it. It makes me think of the old 16bit days with my SNES, back when I actually enjoyed buying new games. The enemies and bosses could have been a little more creative. However, it's still a fun game, an...
