I couldn't get metal gear 2 to work either. Metal Gear 1 worked but wouldn't save and saving might not be supported. I finally just used paraMSX for PC and it works very well for me.

I am hardly an expert on the matter but what your speaking of is a ripped version of the sega smash pack. It has a few of the better genesis titles on it. Someone hacked it to play all genesis games.
