I think microsoft realized they were making the same mistake as sega by releasing their console so early and then took note that the only thing that kept it going was the homebrew community. Except they hope they aren't too late like the dreamcast. WTF? The 360 is doing fine, and the homebrew commu...

Well, that makes sense. You can just mod your original Xbox and play non-live games off the hard drive, then play Live-enabled games on the 360.

About half of the Xbox games I own work now, but a huge number that I plan to buy don't. And a big "WTFzorz?" to no Shenmue 2 or Psychonauts. I know that since this is software, they tend to get games with the same engine running before others, and this often leads to craptacular games wor...

I prefer my Dreamcast, but there cant be any comparison... the DC scene is stuck struggling with proper emulation of 16 bit systems, snes emulation sucks, genesis is not good yet , MAME is decent and neo-geo is GREAT!! and thats about it. The DC is powerful enough to handle the PSX as proven by ble...

Yeah, emulation on the Xbox is really awesome. I mean, the damn thing can run Sega CD games.

Re: Microsoft's Andre Vrignaud about Modchips

Let's take these on one at a time. * First, the ability to pirate games. I mean, really - what can you say here? We already had a conversation about piracy earlier, and at the end of the day every game not legally purchased is simply stealing money from the creators. Some people attempt to justify ...

Do we still really need a thread like this? I mean, it's 2006, and as others have said, theren't aren't many games available for both systems that really push either system graphically. And of course, ports are never a good way to see the graphical power of a system. I mean, look at all the PS2-->Xb...

These really don't prove anything about the power of the DC. Those are just the HEADS of characters without a whole lot of lighting, no AI, no physics, no other characters, nothing. The in-game models/graphics in Shenmue 2 don't even look as good as those.

It won't really affect the DC at all. No one is making games on a large scale anymore, just the occasional arcade port. I mean, sure, developers could make a game for the DC because it costs so little compare to the 360 or PS3, but it might only sell 1% of the copies.

My view: 1. This is 0% chance of happening. Our efforts should be focused on getting games made for Naomi ported to the DC, since doing so would be relatively easy. 2. It seems pretty obvious from SOL's posts that any conversion of Outrun 2006 for the DC would take a considerable graphical hit over ...

Now, however, you look at games like GT3,4, MGS2,3, God of War, Tekken 5, Ico, Onimusha 3, R&C:UYA, FFX, and Jak 3, and its pretty easy to see that the PS2 is the more powerful system. You crack me up little buddy. You can't compare current games to the older games that the Dreamcast had ...

Technically speaking, nothing on the PS2 comes close to the beauty of Shenmue or Ecco, the speed and power of F355 Challenge or Test Drive: LeMans 24, and the sheer elegance and gaming grace of games like Metropolis Street Racer and Jet Grind Radio. RAWFLE Oh have things have changed. As someone sa...

Problems with the Action Replay CDX Demo over at DCHelp

Over at DCHelp, they provide the image of the Action Replay CDX Demo. It is intended to be used to play imports and obviously as a cheat device. I can't get it to work, though. Sure, the system boots to the AR menu, but turning on codes or trying to play an import doesn't work. Any idea of what's go...

Shenmue 3 may be on its way to next-gen consoles

http://games.kikizo.com/news/200508/141_p1.asp Well there ya go. I really hope this is real, and not just some horrible rumors. I also hope they scratch the entire voice cast, or just leave in the Japanese voice overs. The whole idea of having the ENTIRE saga all at once is pretty cool, especially ...

The button layout on an x arcade looks rather weird search the shoryuken.com forum and you'll see many opinions about the x arcade and most of them not very positive. They don't have a search function, so mehorz to that. Every single thing I've read about the X-Arcade stick has been overwhelmingly ...
