update, update ^^ it finaly works ... ^^ my picture is black/white but this is normal on a PAL TV system, when using composite instead of RGB ... i turn it on and the system ask me to select a language, as i dont have any joypads i cant select any ... but the "Access" LED is still not work...

yeah thx again ^^ i tried, but got no picture on my tv ... i also think that i damaged something by re-assembling my saturn , because the LEDs are not working correct anymore ... :? :? :? the saturn is still turning on, the disc are still spinning ... but no picture , "Access" LED not work...

Sega Saturn problems

Hi, as you can read here : http://www.dcemulation.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=84601 i bought a (maybe) defect sega saturn on ebay. it is a us/ntsc one and it came without any cables and joypads. but as the power cables are the standart ones i can say that the saturn runs and the discdrive is spinning ...

btw. I bought a defect SEGA Saturn on eBay ... its still not here, so I cant tell what is broken, but do somebody know page with tutorials or something for Saturn repair ???

im still looking on ebay for a cheap one (xbox or ps2) . But even defect ones are not that cheap. but maybe im lucky one day ^^

playing PS2/XBOX without DVD-Drive?

Hi, I thought about getting a used PS2 or XBOX. But even on eBay they are really expensiv (80-100? for a PS2?WTF?, i could get 4 DCs for that ^^) In fact that broken consoles go cheaper I thought to get a defect PS2 or XBOX. But repair parts are also not that cheap and I don?t know much about PS2/XB...

luckely there are on the PSU text labels with plus and minus showing how the thing has to be on the board ... just for info the Text Label names this part as "RC1" ... so I will try it out once a PSU is broken ^^ dont want do damage a well working DC ^^

for real ... it was missing on the broken PSU (good that i was keeping it ^^) what now ? soldering it on ? could i damage my DC ? at least i have no need to try it because all my DCs are working ... maybe i try it when one PSU will blow up again ^^ anyway thanks a lot for helping me to figure it out...

no , the DC isnt modded at all, i have changed the PSU because it was broken, this was the time ive found this part ^^ i think that this part was once soldered , but it has to be made very bad because it seems that this part didnt broked away from something (the pins are fully ok) so it must have be...

i had a similar porblem ... but it also turned off (in my case it didn?t turned completly off , it rebooted ) when i tried to read discs . no this fix didn?t worked ... it was the PSU which was complete broken ... i think it is this one big blue transistor which is burned ... so now I?m waiting for my PSUs to arrive ^^

yes i know ... but i allready buyed one on ebay ... so i hope my PSUs will survive ... and i hope i wasnt some other part wich make the PSU blow up ... but because of this reboot problem the PSU had before i think it was the PSU wich was dying ^^
