Topic: Should the Dreamcast Scene do something?

I think it's pretty obvious why Sega doesn't sell us all Dreamcast dev kits... they won't make anything off of them. It might seem like the Dreamcast homebrew scene is huge, and there would be really high demand for the official dev kit, but there wouldn't be. Only a small fraction of the people who...

NO WAY!!! DOSBox supports Mario is Missing and Reader Rabbit! Those games were like staples in my youth!

Now, I am officially excited.

I've never really known what DOSBox is though. I'm assuming it lets you play old DOS based computer games, yes?

Wow... this is very impressive... it plays almost exactly like Super Pang for SNES. Very nice work. Obviously it's not perfect though, needs an in game menu, sound, a way of seeing how many lives you have, and a button combination that resets the game would be nice. ... but really, the game is quite...

This pisses me off so much. The only reason game retailers do this sort of stuff is because they assume people are willing to drop a ton of cash when a new system is released. I would love to see this come back and bite them in the ass, cause no one wants to pay that much.

I think Genesis emulation is fantastic! Only problem is that the sound lags, and there's nothing much that can really fix that. But it's true, the Dreamcast could never have a good 32x emulator running ever. The 32x has it's own processer along with the Genesis processer, and emulating 2 processers ...

Woohoo!!! I just got back from DreamCon! It was good fun. I met BlueCrab and curt_grymala, both of whom seemed like really nice guys. I played some of Bluecrabs DCRPG which was a lot of fun... it played kinda like Final Fantasy 1, but much nicer sprites/visuals (obviously). I also (generously) recie...

Now that I think about it, cooperating probably is better for the Dreamcast scene.

In business though, competition is essantial.

I agree with some of the now-deleted sentiments that it would be better to cooperate and have only one snes9x port under active development. However they're free to do as they please ofcourse. Competition is nessacery for improvement... without it, Coder A wouldn't strive to be better than the Code...

Just get a cheapo usb controller, or a psx control converter from radioshack. No fix. But you just now noticed this? Have you been playing a few nes and rpg games? Yeah, pretty much all I ever play on my PC are RPGs that I can't play at home (games with translation patches, rarities, etc.) so it's ...

Stupid PC emulation...

I've been emulating on my PC for a really long time now and I've never had a problem with it... well, not until recently.... I've discovered today that when using an emulator on the PC, I can press a maximum of 2 buttons at once. If I press a third button, the game won't respond (Example: If I try t...
