no sense in getting too excited about this.. let's not forget that some of the most-loved late neo games (SvC and slug 3) are both >60MB..

gorgeous menus..

rom browsing is going to look nicer in the final version, i hope?

as in, don't default to the root directory, and display stuff without GoodNES junk or file extensions

well, the fact of the matter is, not every emulation community has a nutty australian man with a heart condition, a strange affection for limp bizkit covers, and varying degrees of kleptomania.

us, we're special.

burner0, if you ever read this forum anymore.. that menu business should really be automatic instead of a selection.

if it's one binary, make it sbi2boot... if it's 2-7, make it single menu, and if it's 8 or more, multi menu.

preview 2 wasn't even released, iirc.

the genplus v3 we all refer to is preview 3 of version 2. in other words, all of these version numbers are completely ridiculous but if something is actually in circulation then it's probably the right thing.

will your scan grabber read rom headers, or just filenames?

i only ask because i don't really use goodnes filenames.. most of my roms are renamed to simpler titles, i.e. "Megaman 2"

And maybe let one add a note to a shot, like "My first one hit kill" or some such nonsense.
out of curiosity, what on the NES can you kill in one hit some times and not others? :D

actually, being raised in a super christian household, i had that baby moses game :D and i don't much like that idea about the quick save/load, personally.. the DC triggers are very prone to being inadvertently squeezed, and then you'd have the kids suddenly jumping back five levels for reasons they...

is anybody that concerned about having every NES rom ever, though?

not only is there pretty much no way around that being extraordinarily illegal, i'm willing to bet at least half of those games are pretty bad.

http://www.dcemu.co.uk/nesmod.shtml essentially, you lose the analog, the B button, and preferably one of the triggers, although it can be fandangled so that you keep both. B+A+select+start (DC Y+X+A+start) might be the best option to access the menus with an NES controller. if you can't make that c...

scherzo, just don't forget to make the menus operable with only X, A, Y, R, and start for the NES case mod. (R would be mapped to the actual reset switch on the NES, and while L+R is doable, and is the way it's shown in the mod tutorial, making it configurable to just R would save a lot of effort. X...
