uh, i hate to say it, but i'm all for that mono-only version if it doesn't skip. all for it. i can't stress that enough. i don't need to be immersed in audio heaven when i'm playing sonic. i do need to hear the ring noise within a couple seconds of when i pick up a ring. hell, i use dreamSNES in mon...

lost levels was a rehash of the original.

i'm going to have to go with mario 3 here as well..

and don't hold your breath about that mario collection. nintendo is making good money off selling them individually on the GBA, and mario 64 is coming out for the DS, so..

space is hardly even the issue.. 64mbits would probably be fine; i can fit all the mono GB and NES games i need in eight megs. any more would probably entice me to use GBA roms.

and i already know loopy is amazing. only loopyNES emulates NES on a 386 =).

scherzo, i always wanted to get a flash cart for GBA, but they always seemed too expensive.. how much did you pay for yours? now that they've confirmed that the DS backward compatibility won't go past the GBA, i'm even more inclined to get one (so i can emulate mono GB games), but i'm waiting for th...

out of curiosity, how dependent are the cool manual features and whatever else you're implementing on goodNES names?

because i don't exactly use goodNES simply because i don't like all the junk it puts on the end of the filenames, but i like the sound of this feature.

scherzo, i just want to share how psyched i'm getting for NesterDC SE. when you first announced it, i wans't that interested at all, was more disappointed that super famicast wasn't going anywhere. after all, nester is pretty much the undisputed best emu right now anyway. however, everything you've ...

i could help you with SBI if you want. it really is a great program and worth using. good to see you're using alcohol; i love it. make sure you play DSnes with sound on mono and transparencies off to get the best speed, unless you absolutely need transparencies on at one point or another (maridia / ...

:o could be very powerful if any of our more user-friendly members are willing to help us out with understanding it, in light of their own great tools (burner0, i'm looking at you .. although SBI is a windows program rather than a DC program, and you could always use dreamshell rather than DI..)

yeah, about the only decent game MDCNG can play is windjammers anyway, and you need sound off to get decent speeds. NeoCD all the way.

one error, quzar - while you're on your "MHz doesn't mean everything," argument, you forgot to mention that the SFX chips boost the clock speed of the SNES way above that of the genesis. other than that, though, fantastic rant :D also, i could get fullspeed SNES emulation on my old P1 (75m...
