does gnuboy support roms w/o extensions like nester?

probably the n00best thing i've asked in a long time :D . never used gnuboy before, but from looking at the images (and author) it seems to be very similar in format to Nester - therefore, can i assume that like nester, it displays the files on the CD as-is, which would normally be ugly, but it allo...

screen position always seemed fine to me, and what you're missing is probably some ridiculous tiny fix like with 2player - don't kill yourself over it right now, come back to it later and you'll probably get it.

any chance blazing star or samurai showdown 2 have cdaudio now?

any more speedup for video is fine with me. metal slug - about all i play - is very nearly "fast enough" (meaning something to the effect of DKC on DSnes, w/ no transparency and sound on mono; not quite fullspeed, but very, very close), and i assume you'll be needing some more speed for wh...

glad to hear it, for a while it seemed like the more innovative BOR dev had bottomed out. looking forward to see your wife's mod finished... what are the chances that when it's done, we can see it merged into a more traditional mod so that we have some sidescrolling levels and some shooting levels, ...

well, the seeding is kind of out of whack, because i took "seeding" to mean, "order i like them in" also, if you notice, it's sectioned by generation. top left = NES, gameboy, 80s arcade top right = SNES, genesis bottom left = N64, PSX, neo-geo bottom right = current (GC, PS2, Xb...

i made my own best game ever, tournament bracket. not sure how big this'll turn out, but at least i get to include some of my favorite games that were left out from gameFAQs. http://www.bracketmaker.com/tmenu.cfm?tid=70423&tclass= please make an official prediction on the site, as it'll make thi...

curt, i would like to help with the sbi's.

i've been looking for a while to make some kind of solid contribution to the DC scene, and while this isn't much, sbis are something i am plenty good at.

this is about the smash pack, but it might be appropriate.

i know, i know, no discussions is allowed, but i've been thinking, and i've really got to ask... ian, blackaura, and anybody else who is currently working on a genesis project: have any of you so much as looked at the source code of the smashpack (and is it even in a comprehendable format)? i know w...

az_bont, i know what you're saying. but i think you're also deliberately treading on thin ice here. i agree with you entirely, honest i do - but lately, this place is getting more and more irritable when it comes to any talk of this at all. as has been suggested already, please let's just drop it. s...

in my experience: super punch-out donkey kong country donkey kong country 2 smash TV lemmings (which you really should be playing on PC, anyway) earthbound all run at about 95% speed, with transparency off and sound on mono. (don't know if mono is any faster than stereo, but i squeeze all the speed ...

don't know if the DC is capable of differentiating. and also, unless you come up with some amazing fix, the mere fact that the project is open source is going to make it extremely easy for somebody with even the most bare-bones coding knowledge to remove the offending lockout. so please, don't do it.

i don't think there's any way you could lock out backups; the neoCD, like the segaCD and DC (initially at least) had no boot protection - in the not-being-able-to-read-unofficially-produced-CDs sense of boot protection (unlike the playstation). honestly i don't think it'd be a good move anyway, and ...

and the speed is at a very nearly acceptable level (i can beat the game and enjoy it, which says a lot), so...sound!

well, if the smash pack didn't use all of the potential of the DC like many of you say, the only solution is to modify it, for good rather than evil, and meanwhile use those untapped parts for sega CD emulation :D

well, i think the BEST possible way would be to rip the neocd game and burn the emulator files onto it as a boot track, like that one guy did... but as you said, that's nobody's business :D . anyway, ian, sorry for asking yet again (you deserve more of a break than this post implies), but since this...
