Re: DreamSDK R2 is now available

Sorry for the delay of answer! This is related to the outdated wget binary included in the package. You have 2 options: - Replace the original wget with a binary more recent - in all of these ports, open the Makefile and change the repository URL from https back to http In the new R3 pack I’m making...

Re: KOS, Visual Studio Code & gdb

Hey T_chan,
This is just great!
I will test if this works on Windows. If yes, I may integrate this in DreamSDK R3 or R4 if you agree? :)

Re: DreamSDK R2 is now available

Have you installed the required KallistiOS Ports using DreamSDK Manager?
These headers are linked to kos-ports so they aren't installed by default.

To do that you may:
  • Open the DreamSDK Manager tool
  • Click on the KallistiOS Ports tab
  • Install libpng and libpcx (zlib is installed with libpcx).

Re: Issues with compiling a program with KallistiOS

Yes DreamSDK R3 is currently in beta stage but will be so much better in all ways.

For the current release (R2), may you try the following:
DreamSDK-R2-Setup.exe /LOG="C:\FileName.log"

Then post the content of the log file here (strip confidential information if any)

Re: Issues with compiling a program with KallistiOS

DreamSDK R3 will be easier on these points. For R2, the current release, you have to install: - Git - SVN - Python 2.7 32-bit (not 64-bit and not another version) When installing all of these components please be sure to check the ‘Add in PATH’ option, i.e. you may check your installation after by o...

Re: Issues with compiling a program with KallistiOS

This sounds like a toolchain misconfiguration issue. Since you are on Windows 10, you have 3 options: Use Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). Use a Docker image . Use DreamSDK . If you are ready to dig on your issue, I think you have a PATH issue. You may check your environ.sh file vs. the path where...

Re: New Open GL API Released

can't find the discord channel you are speaking about. so libGL should be replaced by libGLdc into kallistiOS ? seems confusing ^^ Here's an invite link https://discord.gg/BDCbJP I think eventually GLdc will be added to the KOS ports and replace libGL, but it hasn't happened yet. Also note if you w...

Re: DreamSDK R2 is now available

(tip: for next dream SDK version could add this kind of informations for pre-requisites would be nice) Thank you for your feedback! For the next R3 release (which is currently in beta testing stage), all of these prerequisites will be better managed. Have fun with your Dreamcast! Feel fre...

You should post this on your GitHub (or even better to a new GitLab account 🤣).

Re: DreamSDK R2 is now available

May you try a dry run and copy the output here?
To do that just add the -n switch after the make command.

Re: DreamSDK R2 is now available

This is a really strange issue, as everything to perform compilation is included in the package.

May you start a DreamSDK Shell and try to enter gcc --version?

Re: Noob question thread

Hello, I'm new to DC programming, installed DreamSDK, but when I try to compile and run the source it creates automaticly, it says "The selected target is a Debug target, please select the Release target if you want to run the project" What am I suppose to change? Re: DreamSDK R2 is now available

Wow, thanks so much for this, this is sick! you have no idea how many times I've thought about installing KOS and given up when looking at the installation tutorial. I also got a no such file or directory for romdisk.o and the pre build thing was missing for me to even when I created a project with...

Re: where to get sh-elf-gdb

EDIT: Looking around the internet on some old compiler page, it seems you can build SH-ELF-GDB from the gdb source itself? Yes! I found the following commands: /home/linus> cd build/gdb /home/linus/build/gdb> ../../gdb-6.6/configure --target=sh-elf --prefix=/home/linus/sh1 /home/linus/build/gdb> ma...

Re: KOS - static initialisation failure: __gnu_cxx::__concurrence_lock_error

Sizious, it's the same 4.7.3 toolchain but compiled with later versions of gcc. Ok i dunno if this is related, but I discovered a while back that building KOS with a recent GCC would absolutely screw up the c++ standard library. The solution was to go back to compiling the toolchain itself with GCC...

Re: KOS - static initialisation failure: __gnu_cxx::__concurrence_lock_error

In your old Fedora image, which GCC version did you used? The GCC 4.7.3 is the latest GCC to be proven to be stable, but SWAT is using the 5.2.0 as you might see in their repository . In the past, the KOS team tried to move to the 4.8.x branch and several issues were encountered (I'm not able to fin...
