Re: Looking for new motherboard, 775 and crossfire ready.

Well, i got the motherboard yesterday and was setting it up today. Right now i have a core 2 e6300 clocked at 2.62ghz (375 FSB) on stock cooling and it's running awesome. After reading some guides, it was recommended to change the clock timings to 5-5-5-15 initially and then tune them afterwards. B...

Re: Geforce Graphics Card Problem

NVidia offered as much help as they could. But in the end they said to contact the manufactuer as they only provide the chips and not make the cards (fair enough, really). I couldn't be bothered to contact PNY as it's highly likely that I bought the card over 3 years ago now. I'm not sure, and I ha...

Re: Geforce Graphics Card Problem

looks like hardware failure

have you checked to see the heatsink is touching the GPU propperly? is the memory being cooled propperly?

and one final suggestion, download rivatuner, back off the clocks 10-20% to see if that helps

Re: New PC advice

I'm looking at building a new PC for under $1k. I put together a machine at newegg. Give me some advice...what sucks? What doesn't? Any input will be appreciated. Clicky clicky bah, i was about to suggest going intel, but newegg seems to think an e6750, MSRP at $183 is worth $220 anyway, if you cou...

Fucking shit. Sorry, you wanted honesty, and big, classic and American doesn't cut it over here. Boney prefers them small, young, and Japanese. Your opinion is NULL! I know that was a dig at my Japanophilic ways, but even so, Japanese cars > American cars. vw's better than both. my word, out of all...

Don't pay attention to what AgentGreen says, he is gay. The only time you need his advise is when you can't figure out which Stilettos go good with that particular dress you want to wear. <3 AgentGreen nah, wasnt taking that hard, but it kind of seemed like a logical response back on the non ...

Re: Opinions on this laptop

i wouldnt get that laptop myself it is an OK machine, but there are a few nags for me - 17" screen, way too large for a laptop imho, if you want a large screen on your desk, get a 15" laptop and an external 19" screen to hook it up to when at home - core duo cpu, it is an OK cpu, but ...

Re: Proposal for a spelling and grammar rule

Both Firefox and Opera have built-in spelling checkers, yes, but as English isn't my first language, i refuse to have Firefox check my spelling, either i am writing something in my native language, and everything gets flagged as wrong, or i'm writing in English and everything gets flagged the idea ...

Re: Looking for new motherboard, 775 and crossfire ready.

lol, i never thought buying a new motherboard would be this much of a challenge. Knowing that the x38 chipset still supports ddr2 is nice. Plus i've seen some motherboards (p35) that support both ddr2 and ddr3. Hopefully there will be at least one x38 motherboard that will support that. I've got it...

Re: Xbox 360 defect rate: 100%

I don't know that the Thomson drives are more prone to death than others, but their compatibility with write-once CD formats and rewritable DVD formats is terrible; it's an odd combination, but that's how it is. It's been my experience that Thomson stuff in general (sold in the US under the RCA bra...

Re: Looking for new motherboard, 775 and crossfire ready.

After reading up more, i don't think i'm going to wait after all. Even though the x38 chipset is right around the corner, it is only going to support ddr3 ram, which right now is about 200$ for 1 gig, and it actually loses performance. So i'll wait a while until they get proper ddr3 support. But i'...
