that huge pile of ram (768 mb in a early coppermine p3 is huge, my dads p3 733 came with 64 megs) and that vid card help out hugely as for my fav PoS games, i love quake 2 when i got only crappy hardware, it runs on even the crappiest intel chips in openGL mode, runs smooth as butter and is a great ...

SPEs aren't on the system bus. The various elements of Cell are connected on the so-called Element Interconnect Bus (which arguably behaves more like a series of point-to-point links with tunneling rather than a true bus). The arrangement is optimized for bandwidth and allows for each element to be...

most obviously, it has Cell, which is innovative not for being multi-core but for how the cores are organized and integrated into the system its called a co-processor, and even if you dont count those SPEs as co procs, im currently working on an embedded system with an arm7 and 4 DSPs on the main s...

imho yes, Wii can run U3, not with the visual splendor of the 360 or a PC, but it WILL run as for the specs, the Wii has 128 mb of various external rams, versus 40 megs (yeah thats right, 40 megs) in the cube, the CPU is at worst an unclocked die shrunk ghekko, but as ive said before, i dont buy for...

Sorry for giving you a hard time, it is very nice :) oh no offence taken, i didnt buy this as a gaming machine, sure it payed some attention to its capacity, but its not its main purpose, it runs C&C generals and ut2k4 smooth enough, so i am happy and mel, i do believe the MSI S250 (older versi...

I've never noticed a quality difference between ATi and nVidia to be honest. I figured it was the same deal with audiophiles hearing things that don't actually exist. same here, i think those differences are almost to subtle to notice i can see the diff between AA/ no AA, but nvidia vs ati? no way ...

more like 10 resos, and video card drivers are a bit irrelevant, im pretty sure that if i had a native 1360*768 screen i could get my nvidia card working propperly with it

the vga cable for the 360 isn't very good. I was using it on my plasma for a while there. It looked ok. I switched to component and man it looks sooo much better. its pretty good on a CRT imho, but it just bloody sucks that it doesnt support the propper resolutions, that and the fact that normal PC...

PGR3 for the 360

if PGR had been 30 instead of 47 euros (platinum title, what is with the 47 euros?) i would have gotten some MS points too to get the extra cars and geometry wars

my nvidia drivers dont have that specific reso, but running 1280*800 (widescreen as well) looks like ass on my screen

thats the one drawback of LCD/TFT over CRT imho, if you try to use a non native reso (or an integer scaling one, like half or one third of the reso) it will look horrible

well i just tried it today, running 1360*768 on a 1440*900 native display, and it sucks ass, honestly i prefer my old 17"CRT over this crap, somehow everything looks slightly blurry (due to the reso mismatch) and colors look very washed out im quite miffed really, now i can either find an old ...

R6 is easily the best FPS on the system right now if you ask me. Theres so much to do, online and off and its really well done. Also, facemapping FTW QFT, RB6 owns gears of war in any case... (yes i regret getting the GoW pack) anyway, my recommendations, buy the system with NO games at first, and ...
