Pretty much 0 everything is in Japanese, but if you keep a katakana guide on hand, and pay attention to the colors the words are written in you can pretty much figure most things out. Although I rember getting stuck in a few places and having to resort to a guide.

Someone who codes java more often should jump in, but I remeber there being a mask option in the drawimage() function, which should allow you to specify which pallette index to consider transparent.. well if no-one else jumps in it at least gives you something to search for. :D

DC's DMAC wasn't designed for it, so it would have to be implemented via some sort of controller, which would make it to complex for hobbiests.. Even a software driver is fast enough.. up to the mid 90's dma for HD's on IBM type PC's was practically non existant, and in general the use of the hd wou...

Actually building an interface is rather easy, you'll proabably only need 2-3 74245's for the bus, some sort of register, to hold A0-A2 and some glue 2-3 7400's.. and it does work reasonably fine on a breadboard for testing. If you're capable of wiring a cpu/uctlr to ram, and some sort of I/O chip t...

I believe that this kind of structuring is easier to manage/extend/reuse with OOP than without it. C was made with assembly in mind. C++ was made with C in mind. You wanted to be able to have total control over the machine while still being able to use the new object oriented way of thinking. C++ i...

any chance of having the souce code released for this? I think looking at it would be a good learning experience. Why would I want to subject some poor human to such torture.. I'll do a little better than that, by the time I'm finished.. it'll probably be unreadable.. The main code is not machine s...

jjoepr, A bonus stage? possibly a boss or a stage similar to Yar's revenge? Dunno maybe I over stepped my bounds and asked for way too much. Not at all.. I had hit a point with this, that I was just going to ditch it, since I couldn't figure out where to go with it... but just mentioning Yar's gave ...

The system was designed when communication and people were far more spread out and doesn't make much sense now... just like Daylight Savings time. If anything, DST should work *backwards* to the way it current does, especially considering the huge energy savings states like California would see. In...

Alright, now I've got a question. Suppose they were to do the Treamcast mod, and simply sell it as a "modified" or "upgraded" Dreamcast. Would that be illegal? It's not illegal as it is right now.. Also, looking at my Treamcast, I was thinking of something. The main Tramcast log...

They haven't infinged on any patents since they bought the legitimate article, and placed it into a new case. Yes, if they used Sega parts the "exhaustion of rights" doctrine applies. Initially I thought that parallel importing might be an issue here, but that seems to be legal these days...

Alas Ristar only made it to toy capsules in shenmue, that's about it :P Still poor Ristar.. never got the attention he justly deserved!!! it...
