Re: Traveling

Late to the party, but I will second New Orleans - just recommend going during the fall/winter months unless you want to deal with insane humidity. :) Food is amazing though and it's one of the more culturally-unique cities of the US (from my perspective). Also - New Mexico is incredible if you like...

Re: What does everyone do for work?

Software development, but not the fun kind - lately, it's web applications and business-oriented stuff. I've had the chance to develop a few "games" for trade shows and such, but they were pretty basic affairs. I make a small amount of money off my music as well; ideally, I'd like to make more off o...

Re: DCEmu Decides the 2020 US Presidential Election

I suppose in the spirit of the original post from 4 years ago - "Do you know who you're voting for? What swayed you?"

DCEmu Decides the 2020 US Presidential Election

Well, folks... the last four years have been really something else whether or not you've lived in the United States... Let us revisit a now-classic post by DaMadFiddler for a new election cycle and try to determine who will be crowned the new king or queen of America. Poll stays open 'til election d...

Still More Shameless/Shameful Self-Promotion

If you remember from other recent posts, I seem to keep turning up to shill some new, non-Dreamcast bullshit I've worked on... Well, here's the latest album from yours truly. I'm not expecting it to set the world on fire or anything, but I'm damn happy with the outcome of my work. Spotify Apple Musi...

Re: Spam Post!!

Props for playing almost all the instruments + vocals Thanks for checking it out! There were more than a few times on this album (mostly during mixing) where I had to step outside of favoring my primary instrument (guitar) and think of what would serve the song itself best. I'm really happy with th...

What was up with that random kick drum near the end?

By the by, any song featuring a kazoo is a-ok with me! :)

Spam Post!!

Haha, OK - maybe not quite... I know a few people here enjoyed some of the music I had done previously and I figured I'd post a link to my new album Broken Mirror . Sorry for the self-promotion crap. Honestly, I hate doing this side of things entirely (more comfortable during the creation phase). Th...

Re: More Shameless/Shameful Self-Promotion

I really wished you could have done a remix for SLaVE. At least you will be credited as a beta tester. :) Yeah! I was actually thinking recently about SLaVE and wondering if the final release timeline had been figured out. It's fun and fast paced! :) I want to say I sent a PM on those boards regard...

Re: More Shameless/Shameful Self-Promotion

I liked Push/Pop/Push. We need more ghetto chiptunes :D Oh yeah! There's definitely some hiphop-inspired beats going on - I'd love to work with some MCs in the future and make some killer group tracks like we used to get in hiphop... you know, with just like 4 or 5 guys trading verses and trying to...

Re: More Shameless/Shameful Self-Promotion

I enjoyed it. I listen to a lot of chiptunes though. I especially liked Bled Dry. I'd like to see more as you gain experience with this type of stuff. Thanks for taking a listen and for the feedback! Bled Dry was specifically inspired by a guy originated from Western PA who goes records/performs un...

More Shameless/Shameful Self-Promotion

...figured I'd swing by with another thread of shameful/shameless self promotion. I just released a short EP of miscellaneous electronic music I've done over the past few years on Bandcamp - https://stevethompson.bandcamp.com/album/rtrofutr It's pay-what-you-want, so you can download it totally free...

Yep. It will sadly end up being Clinton v. Trump.

I just can't get past Donald Trump seriously making it this far. I guess I've been giving the American people's intelligence the benefit of a doubt too long.

Re: DCEmu Decides the 2016 Presidential Election

Well this certainly makes the election take on a bit more of an important turn... Especially since Republicans in the Senate have already basically said they won't allow a replacement to be confirmed until next year... Damn cherry-pickers. Justices are supposed to be selected by the standing US pre...

Re: DCEmu Decides the 2016 Presidential Election

I like the ideas of Bernie Sanders. He seems to have good intentions and the people in-mind. I also applaud him for totally avoiding corporate donations and wanting to make the big boys pay up their fair share (sorry, GE). That being said, using words like socialism in your campaign seems like polit...

Social Recording Experiment for My New Album

I apologize if this comes off as too spammy, but I know we have some talented folks on this forum and I wanted to share something I posted a bit ago on my FB page: Trying something new which may or may not be a fun experiment. Everyone is invited to contribute to what is intended to be a "big group ...
