I completely agree with you but they cannot change anything anymore now that the Kickstarter has launched.
The reasons PS4 and Xbone are stretch goals is understandable though as there likely are additional license fees involved.

Thanks for the reply. I will check out DreamROQ
but I ask you to take a quick look into the format I recommended here. It's made with 16-bit PCs in mind and works more like a GIF than a real fmv.

AMEBA & Xenocider coming to Dreamcast and Saturn
via dreamcastjunkyard.co.uk NXbj2LV7YvE Spanish indie developer Retro Sumus came to the fore in late 2014 when new Dreamcast-bound visual novel AMEBA was announced. Since then, work has been progressing steadily behind the scenes and we decided it was about time that we uncovered just what Retro Sum...

Re: FLI/FLC player for hi res Intros/Cutscenes in homebrew g
Ever since I first played Beats of Rage with its impressive GIF based intros and cutscenes, I couldn't help but think of the FLIC file format from the early 90s MS-DOS era. Basically it's a lot like an animated GIF but less restrictive in its color palette. CPU usage is VERY low from what remember ...

Re: powervr2 limits
I am not sure how much more advanced PS2 really is. Many PS2 games render internally at resolutions like 320x480 or 640x240 (see DOA 2 Xtreme vs Dead or Alive 2 on Dreamcast) instead of true 640x480 like Dreamcast does.
btw NAOMI is identical to Dreamcast - aside of the differences in RAM.

Re: My game: World War II Wings (Update - Version 02.8)
I have tested the previous version. This does have potential but needs some work. - The player's firing sound needs replacing (sounds like a pistol when it should be more like a continuous rapid fire laser gun, no sound effect would be better than a bad sound effect) - The player's shots are too sma...

While I am quite fascinated by anything Katana related I would like to point out that people use KallistiOS nowadays to develop for Dreamcast.

OpenBoR Dreamcast port
Beats of Rage doesn't actually use KOS but Neill Corlett's own libraries. Here is a toolchain to compile the original Beats of Rage (along with 50/60Hz support and rumble support): http://la.cible.free.fr/DreamCast/BOR/bor_dc_toolchain.zip And here's a discussion where SamuraiX (the maintainer of Op...

The Next Step for Elysian Shadows: Part 1
via twodashstash.com http://i747.photobucket.com/albums/xx111/christuserloeser/Dreamcast-and-Ouya-2.jpg People were wondering why we were creating a game for the Dreamcast and Ouya. I think it was the most asked question we received when people first heard about the game,” Girgis explained when talk...

Re: Pier Solar has a release date
DCS conducted their own packaging survey to facilitate Water Melon's survey, however it only took into account packaging styles that indie games come in instead of official packaging. The results favored the original indie skin introduced by GSP in 2003 with Feet of Fury. That poll is VERY misleadi...

Re: Smash Pack programmer wanted Echelon to release ROM Load
We definitely should loosen the rules and do allow talk about hacks and Katana homebrew. And WinCE. Allowing free debate on these should not be confused with endorsement and we should make that point crystal clear to everyone.

Re: Dreamcast's 15th Anniversary: A press review
No, I don't hate Katz nor Stolar nor Rosen. I don't really hate Kalinske, I just do not agree AT ALL with people who think he's responsible for the Genesis' success when in fact he got nothing to do with it. The hardware and games were good, and Katz did some very solid ground work, and then there w...

The press coverage of Peter Moore's bowel movements is exactly what motivated me to look for a couple of better features.
