Backing up VMU files?

I dug up my bleem for GT2 disc yesterday, and loaded it up. I'm amazed it still works actually on my DC, it has trouble booting certain discs. Anyway, since bleem requires it's own dedicated vmu, and both my vmu's are pretty much full, I thought maybe I'd back up the files that are on them. Is there...

What version of DreamPassport does Shenmue have?

I picked up Shenmue earlier for 10 bucks. I haven't tried it out yet, but I am wondering which version of DreamPassport this game has.

Need help burning MameDC

I downloaded both the Nero and the DiscJuggler image from this site, and burned them. I can't get either of them to work. Neither disc will work in my DC, and when I put them in my computer, there's nothing on the disc, it seems. What am I doing wrong?

MameDC question

I'm wondering, what kind of performance can I expect from MameDC playing games like Final Fight, The Simpsons and TMNT. Would they be near full speed, or would they be slow?

Stuff I bought today

I went to EB again and picked up a few more games. I got Ferrari F355, Virtua tennis, Ducati racing and Jet grind radio for 10 bucks a piece. But, Jet grind radio doesn't seem to work, either that or my DC won't read the disc. It's got some scratch marks that go around the disc surface, like somethi...

Laser calibration

Anyone done one? My DC seems to be having trouble reading a few of my games (Sega GT and Grandia 2) so I thought I'd go do a laser calibration. Is this a hard job? I started on it earlier, but I only got one screew out, it looks like a torx head, smaller than a t-20. Anyway, how much should I turn t...

Has anyone here done this? I'm gonna do it (the laser calibration :D ) this weekend, right after I find the right size torx bit.

I don't think it would be anything to worry about. My DC gets quite hot sometimes, no hint of any trouble with it. I notice Grandia 2, for example, seems to access the disc a lot during some magic sequences.

Well, I remember back about a year and a half ago, reading somethinig about a few people with pirated copies of Crazy Taxi supposedly having their DC's overheat and die from excessive jumping of the laser around the disc.

That's exactly why I would like to get myself a copy of ver.3 browser.

Anywhere else I can get the dreamcast browser ver.3?

I really don't want to pay $70 US and up for the ver.3 dreamcast browser. I read somewhere Crazy Taxi 2 had it, I think.

Question about Grandia 2

My question is about the voice overs. Are the conversations in the game all voice and text, or mostly text with some voice overs added? I've been playing it for a while, after having a hell of a time even getting the game to work, and I've noticed in a few instances, like when you first see Roan, th...

I think the problem now is a bad DC, unfortunately. I popped in Sega GT, and that wouldn't start either. I had to turn it on and off about 6 times to get it to go. Did this to me one other time too.

Ok, well, now it's not working again. It get to the point where Ryudo and Skye are talking to each other after completing the job for that rude man. They're walking down a path, and that's as far as it gets. I have no idea what's wrong. Half an hour ago, the game wouldn't get past the opening movie....
