The bad checksum is actually probally not a result of your DL site on the update. It may be because you don't have the latest version of the actual app. The update feature doesn't check your version number, and will keep returning that error no matter where you try to dl it from. i am almost positive you can't oc that box, since it's a HP pavilian. HP shipped there comps with mobo's that had a propriety bios that locked all oc functions. the boards won't work with any toher bios's either. i have a compaq, and have the same problem. i believe this is true for your comp too.

Actually, its not that hard to make an EEPROM cart for the SNES. You just need to canabalize a good existing one for parts. There are lots of tutorials around on the whole process step by step. Its just cumbersome to load new roms onto the chip everytime you wanto load another game.
