I've been slack on keeping up. Thanks for the positive comments. :) I'm definately interested in the incompatible hardware - I worked for a fair bit of time to get Gamesharks to work, for instance. ;) I'll have to try to get one of the madCatz cards, Gameholic, what type of card failed for you? Also...

I was just about halfway doing the music for Cool Herders, but it didn't came out as planned For what it's worth, we really appreciate Nakamichi speaking up and trying to help, even if other things got in the way. Naka was the *only* person on all the forums to offer to help. And his music is pretty...

Binky is the guy who came up with the original concept for the game and drew all the artwork. I'm just organizing, directing and programming. ;)

Thanks, Naka! I just listened to it, and it's pretty cool! (Though, I didn't actually recognize any of the existing music. :) )

I'll just send this off to Binky for his input. :)

Cool Herders Music request!

Since the musician we had lined up went and got himself marred*, and we're trying to keep to a schedule now (even though we haven't said much!), we are seeking a musician for the Cool Herders project. :) We're looking at about 7-8 tracks. If you've seen the demo then you've got a general idea of the...

The Nokia F-BUS cable and the Dreamcast Coders Cable are pretty much the same thing - an RS232 cable with a 3-volt converter. I'm not sure about M-BUS, at the time I had come to believe it was slightly different but I never examined why. I can tell you that "MBUS" itself is not a fancy nam...

Midwest Classic Gaming pictures?

Okay, I can't wait any longer. ;) Maybe I've missed it, there are a lot of posts here, but Binky and I are dying to hear any news of how the Midwest Classic Gaming expo went, and seeing any pics of the Goat Store booth (and maybe Cool Herders ;) ). I've done web searches, and only turned up two coll...

Photoshop is very expensive.

However, Photoshop Elements has all the features that anyone except top-end artists are going to use, and is typically under $100. Definately worth a look if you're going legit.

Cool Herders Link Update?

This isn't exactly *news* but I notice the link on the Cool Herders page here (http://homebrew.dcemulation.org/cool.shtml) is wrong. It should be pointing to http://harmlesslion.com/games/herders I wasn't sure how to inform the correct people, but the 'yiffco' address that it's pointing at now will ...

Darc: I *am* Moving Target. You can ask me. ;) (I thought I'd replied to all the mail I got, though...) Just to feed the rumour mill some - CH has been successfully ported to the lastest CVS of KOS thanks to Dan Potter. I don't have a BBA yet, though, so although I've duplicated the build success, I...

A standalone version will be on my web page in 15-20 mins - depending on the modem speed here. (I hate moving ;) )

Finally put one together from bits of the DC Tonic disk and newly build code.

Lemme give a long, dirty history of the Cool Herders project. I think I'm qualified. ;) You can take this as rumour or fact. What I say here may or may not be accurate. It's just my point of view. ;) I worked a lot with Dan in the early days of DC development, although I didn't really contribute ver...
