I love playing DC Racing games with the wheel. It's better, you just get a better feel. The analog stick is just too small for the total range that you want. I use the Sega one, which has the hand paddles and is easier to control than foot pedals. My record was over 200 customers, if I remember corr...

It's pretty, but it's a little boring going through the forest paths. And it ends abruptly with little closure. Especially since Shenmue III was never going to come :( Certainly not on DC anyway. So sad...........................

Dreamcast should still be alive!

The PAL version sometimes hangs during startup (due to video mode code, I believe). If you unplug then plug in your VMU again, you can get it to go.

This may or may not be the problem you are having.

If you use the normal Utopia boot disc which has been patched (simply enabled the VGA bit) then it works, but you boot "blind" (ie. while Utopia is running, you'll get no display on your screen, but once the game is loaded, it switches to VGA).

Don't be ridiculous. The memory is flash RAM, like in an MP3 player or digital camera. It's not powered by the batteries.

Grandia II was a favourite. But nothing beats Skies for that pure amazing happy feeling after you have completed it, just an amazing game with so much charm.

Jukebox only has music from the tapes you collect, not really very special. Came with the Japanese version which I own. The other ones I've only got and somewhat incomplete in mp3 form.

I recorded all the Passport songs to mp3s as well... :)

Keep in mind that many of the 3D hardware capabilities of the PowerVR were never or rarely used, because it couldn't do them very fast. Things like FSAA, trilinear or aniostropic filtering or bump mapping. FSAA was only used in two games as far as I know, WSB2k2 and NHL2k2. I don't think any games u...

Well I remember reading Carmack saying Doom 3 would run nicely on a Voodoo5... when 3dfx was still in business.

The OST contains a lot of music not in the game (or substantially different to the tunes in the game). Nothing abnormal about that.

There are a couple of OST for Shenmue I. OST Disc 1, OST Disc 2, Orchestra Version, JukeBox and I guess you could count the Passport disc.

98 is my favourite (which is Dream Match on the DC). The music was better quality in the DC version, but they did use CDDA which meant that audio reset after every round so you rarely heard most of the tracks! After that I probably like 99 and 94.
