:o And Europe got the best version of Sega GT... I have the European SGT, and then I played the US version, and agreed with many gamers who said it sucked... It's not worth buying. I now understand why they say control sucks. I was able to get Rez, Ikaruga, Headhunter and Shenmue II, So I guess some...

Yeah, you should look for Asian vendors. In Asia and Latin America, the DC was used as a full fledged Arcade system. I believe Lik-Sang even sell the complete system, with everything you need.

:o

What about Sega GT?

WHO hates SoulCalibur?, I mean, I hate Resident Evil, but that doesn't keep me from seeing it as a great game.

:D Well, I rate great games by how long you play them. A game that has you glued to the DC for months is a good one, in my opinion. 3 Great Games: Jet Set Radio- So much fun, lots of replay value. Sega GT- Incredible depth. The only people who call it unrealistic are those who don't take the time to...

My mother is from Mexico. I've never been there but I am surprised that you can see market stalls with pirated software. It's odd that if it is such a problem here in the US, the companies don't try and get the Mexican government to put a stop to it. A few will placed cops and such would probably d...

:o Wow, very intelligent, logical, reply. These controversial topics should be discussed in the open, leaving puritanism behind. It's the only way to really combat piracy. Otherwise, the piracy business will become something like the drug business. I'm serious. It's already an enormous "undergr...

:? Yeah, I think the problem lies in the media format... Just look at a sports game, where the drive is constantly accesing the disc. Also, miniaturization. I, personally, could have lived with a bigger dreamcast, with better cooling, and an outboard power supply. These things are meant for entertai...

:P Ha! I thought no one would notice! Hats off to the console with the highest great-game-ratio since probably the SuperNes. That's what killed it... those insane development costs. The games, at the end, didn't sell that well... And now, we hear about people creaming their pants over Shenmue on XBo...

:o I once tried the exact same thing, and I can objectively tell you it worked, since games that "froze", like Sega GT, Phantasy Star and Crazy Taxi 2, worked like a charm afterwards. Also, on games that exhibited messed-up textures, (a sure sign of overheating) like Virtua Tennis, there w...

Brace yourself for one of the biggest, groundbreaking gaming experiences out there. You might hate it at first. (This leather jacket guy has a black-car fetish!) but it will grow on you, like a good book. Take it slow, don't rush through the game, or you'll miss a LOT of stuff. There are gaming mile...

 Here I go again... Here is a link that a LOT of people just ignored: http://www.portelligent.com/samples.asp No, it's not a service manual, but I think you'll find it's FAR from useless. It's a teardown report for a Dreamcast. It's meant for people who want to repair DCs for a living, or even...

Yeah, it looks like a problem with the motor. You can look for someone who has experience in repairing portable CD players and Playstations. A friend had the same problem, had the motor repaired. However it was still resetting. We adjusted the power supply pins, and it has worked fine until now. Goo...

Great Link! Must See!

Allow me to nominate myself for post of the year... Just Kidding. Actually, I want to share a link I stumbled upon when engaging in one of my favorite hobbies: data mining. With careful and expert use of search engines, data mining can get you pretty useful, or fun stuff, or both. As an architect, I...

Dreamcast oddities in the wide world of gaming...

I?m from Mexico. Videogames here are not purchased in retail chains (EB, BestBuy,etc.), but in Casbah-like shopping districts, a bit like Akihabara in Tokyo, Japan. The other day, I asked my father to get me a Memory Card, preferably the Nexus card with PC interface. However, him being the proverbia...

About power for Cooling Fan Mods

My DC runs VERY hot. So, I decided to add a cooling fan. However I would really like it to be powered and switched from the console, instead of a separate transformer and switch. Does anyone have any info on the power supply pins. And if so, could my fan be powered from it? Has anyone tried an inter...
