Re: unable to find a register to spill in class 'FP0_REGS'

Look through all the bug reports on the GCC bug tracker for results matching "SH" or "SuperH", especially those that also include the term "regression" in the title. For reference, here's the list of all the bugs tagged "[SH]" right now on the bug tracker: https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/buglist.cgi?qu...

Re: Enabling missing C++11 functionality

Honestly, that's the first thing I would have suggested as a possibility to try to fix it... Is there anything in the config.log to show why it's failing (like the actual compiler error it's throwing out)?

Re: unable to find a register to spill in class 'FP0_REGS'

Hoping 3 values happen to be in order in 3 registers is not going to be common. I would doubt it happens often. Not if you run multiple passes of the various macros in that file with the same parameters it wouldn't be. Sure, on a first pass, it'd be unlikely that everything would be where it should...

Re: unable to find a register to spill in class 'FP0_REGS'

There are issues with the patch that has been presented here... First off, it clobbers registers without informing the compiler, which will break things in interesting ways later on. Second, it could end up causing significantly more fmov instructions to need to be output in the final assembly than ...

Re: unable to find a register to spill in class 'FP0_REGS'

That could very well be a regression, because GCC shouldn't run out of floating point registers like that. Basically, unless you're using a lot of variables that have the "register" specifier, you shouldn't run into those types of issues.

Re: Does JoshProd have a special licensing agreement with Cryptic Allusion?

Yeah, it's not GPLed, so it can be used in closed-source stuff; otherwise, much of the commercial homebrew out there would be in violation of the license, including Feet of Fury (which was coded by Dan). That said, using it without acknowledging its use, including the license, and including all of t...

Re: Strange bug with snd_sfx_play

Well, considering the GitHub you posted the report on is my private copy of the repository (which hasn't actually been updated in a while), no quzar wouldn't have any access to it there. I'm not exactly sure how people manage to find their way there and not to the "official" GitHub mirror of KOS at...

Re: Server Event: Eggcelent Easter

The prize redemption period has begun for the Eggcelent Easter event. You will have until May 23, 2019 at 04:00 UTC to redeem your eggs for prizes and to collect any eggs that you've earned for placing on the various leaderboards. Eggs can be traded in in two different ways for this event... Like la...

Re: Strange Compiling results. Is something deprecated?

Change the

Code: Select all

#include <sys/cdefs.h>
in the biosfont.h file to instead say

Code: Select all

#include <kos/cdefs.h>
and the issue should be fixed.

I've pushed the fix to the git repository, so you could also just "git pull" it and re-compile KOS (just KOS -- not the whole toolchain, obviously).

Server Event: Eggcelent Easter

Since the Winter event was a success, how about an event for Easter? Event Information: Start Time: April 15, 2019 @ 02:00 UTC (@125) End Time: April 29, 2019 @ 02:00 UTC (@125) Description: Hunt down the vile creatures who have stolen all of the eggs from the families that have ventured down to Rag...

Re: New user -- looking to be very active online

Welcome to the server. I hope you enjoy your time playing on it... Let's see if I can answer some of the questions... 1. Online quests are not really generally meant for offline play -- they're usually meant as something to play with others, so we don't offer them for download to play offline. There...

Re: Detecting memory errors

It certainly doesn't catch as much as valgrind does, but you could enable all of the memory-related debugging features in include/kos/opts.h (make sure to do a full make clean && make on KOS itself and your own code afterwards).

Re: How do I set PT_ALPHA_REF?

Based on what I see in the reicast source code, that would be register 0x011c in the PVR's register space, so you'd use something like this: PVR_SET(0x011c, value); As for what the values mean, my best guess from the reicast source is that the lower 8 bits of it are the value you want to set to what...

I know this is a super old post and sorry for bumping but it seems like the right place to ask. For some reason some people have that weird MTU problem, and some don't. I've personally never run into it myself, where others have had constant issues with it... :|

Glad that you got it sorted out, though.

Re: boot problem on old dreamcast JAP system with builcd

If you're not even seeing the "Produced by or under license..." screen, then the problem certainly has nothing to do with KOS. I suspect that the "buildcd.bat" and bootdreams are using different methods to burn the disc (one using the data/data method and one using the audio/data method) and you hav...
