lol, you gotta give me a little break, now. I am fairly disconnected from the game world these days. My computer is a PII 266mhz laptop with a crappy screen, and dial-up internet which I only occasionally have access to. I take it when I can get it!

OMG! PS3, Metal Gear Solid 4 and MGS:Portable Ops

:o Holy freaking bologna sandwiches, batman!! I just got my new PSM mag in the mail the other day. Great stuff in there, especially about the latest MGS games. Has anyone else seen all the latest for MGS4?! It is looking pretty damn pimped out, even better that it was when the first videos of it wer...

I had about twenty QueCats. I wish I still had a few of them. They were barcode scanners that passed in through a PS/2 port. You could scan a barcode and it would link you to a relevant site for that item (in theory). The reason I thought they were neat was because you could use third party software...

Neon's Tips & Tricks to Sig Creation

The following tips and tricks are for beginners looking to create their own sig images. Most of the following information is of little use to persons with graphic design experience. The most important thing you need for sig design is modern image creation/editing software. Although you can create so...

Do you have WipeOut Pure, by any chance? Definite positive effects on that one. BTW, what firmware version are you running?

l33t Sig Script

Hey, guys. Haven't been on in a while, sucks to be back on 28.8k. Just thought I'd post this for anyone who is interested. With all the sigs I had for myself, I wanted a way to easily circulate through them. The answer? A PHP script. Edit the below file and upload it to somewhere with the extention ...

The big difference should be in the lens, above anything else. Some kits, I have been informed, use plain magnifying lenses and stuff, and that won't work. If you aren't using an actual fresnal lens, the image projected will be less bright. Anyone in here make the kit using what they knew for sure t...

DC++ is the God of all p2p, Mirc not withstanding... And no, you do not have to share 10+gigs...some hubs have a very small share min, like say 2 gigs. That's not asking much eh? It's lacking as far as beginning users are concerned. You have to start somewhere to get those 2 gigs to share, and when...

You'll see performance boosts on burners and such by setting them to master on an IDE over a readable optical drive, so I'd recommend it, yeah.

Yeah, recordable drives should always be set to master over read-only drives, like a DVD-ROM or CD-ROM drive.

If you're getting thermal compound, go with the best: http://www.arcticsilver.com/as3.htm

Not entirely necessary, I guess, cause Intels do run cooler, but if you're going to drop $10, always good to go with the best.

As far as I can tell, yeah, that should do just fine. Being the P4S5A, it appears to be the Pentium version of the K7S5A (duh... K7 is Athlon XP, P4 is a Pentium 4). Might want to get some second opinions, as I am not that familiar with Intel boards, but it looks good to me. The 2 SDR/ 2 DDR slots s...

Tufshop has shown to be the cheapest when I was looking for my combo, too, but then I read a number of horrid reviews, and looked elsewhere: http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1924.html Also, before you go purchasing the CPU, make sure you know what mobo you are after. If the mobo is for a differe...

Would this be a suitable case/power supply? I like the way it looks and it's got plenty of expansion slots.
Should be. If it has more of each type of bay than you have now, and you're not adding new hardware, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be.

As recommended by MidnightObsidian, I got the K7S5A mobo a while back when I built my new system, and so far, it's worked out quite well. Two slots for both DDR and SDRAM allows me to upgrade later, full compatability with AthlonXP chips, onboard sound and LAN, five PCI slots, and 1 4x AGP. It also ...

Re: Computers in the Movies

Everyone knows that Hollywood doesn't know sh1t about computers. All you have to do is watch Hackers or The Net to confirm this. Remember Jurassic Park? "This is a Unix system. I know this." Good for you, but without an administrative account, your still screwed. And I don't know what the...
