Dreamcast files come in several formats:

BIN files: BIN files (usually named 1ST_READ.BIN) are Dreamcast executable files. They can be scrambled or unscrambled. Unscrambled BIN files are simply the executable files, while scrambled BIN files must be used to boot from a MIL-CD. A download containing a BIN file is often called a Plain Files download.

DiscJuggler image: This is a CD image file for use with the DiscJuggler application.

Nero image: This is a CD image file for use with the Nero application.

SBI: This file is a compressed, packaged form of a "plain files" binary. Several applications use this file format to easily create a menu system based on DreamInducer to burn a CD containing several applications with little user effort involved.
