Okay finally sat down to try and setup httpd-ack but can't seem to get things up and running.
I need like an idiots guide to this as my settings seem fine to get a few frags in playing Q3A.

As far as I know, no problem with this as long as only one file at a time is being downloaded. The only downside of automatic downloading I can think of is, you won't see any possible errors. If a track stops reading due to read error, Firefox keeps the incomplete file, without any indication it stopped downloading prematurely. This means you might checksum something wrongly, but it will be detected if someone tries to verify your dump and comes up with different size/checksums.
Of course it would be silly to try to grab more than 1 track simultaneously.

I personally use 'wget -r -nH http://ip' (in linux) which will download everything. If there is a read error and/or premature disconnect during a file transfer, wget will try to re-grab the file. So just have to keep an eye out for it looping on the same track.Maddog wrote:As far as I know, no problem with this as long as only one file at a time is being downloaded. httpd-ack wont allow it and will return an error indicating the cdrom is locked by another thread.Maddog wrote: Of course it would be silly to try to grab more than 1 track simultaneously.
