3 verified NAOMI GD-ROMs

Post by Maddog »

Using some excellent internal submissions from ackmed and Ripper006, I am very proud to announce the first 3 verified NAOMI GD-ROM images. :D :D :D
A new dat is being made to accomodate those and will be released publicly soon enough.
Since I don't have the actual dumps in my hands, I don't know whether they work on NullDC emulator or not. As soon as I know, I'll post here.
Hope we can get some more verified soon (though it will definitely be harder than verifying DC discs...)

Here they are:

Hahaha, I was bidding against whoever it was for these on ebay =P They went cheap enough but 2 of the three require special input devices.
I only upload the information, not images.

These Naomi games -and a lot of others- have been recently dumped by TheGuru and are already included in Mame 0.127u3 CHDs. Objectively, gd-rom tracks are easy to obtain from these CHDs using chdman, bin2iso, CDmage and/or IsoBuster, at least for track01.bin & track03.bin files.
Thanks a lot anyway ackmed & Ripper006 for the submissions, and Maddog for the post, but could you provide .gdi file contents of these -now- verified dumps?

Oops, I forgot to add all the other info. In all reality, you could grab any Dreamcast .gdi file from public dats with same checksum as seen in my previous post. But you are right, I should have posted info in human readable form as well. Sorry. :?

Sadly, I haven't been able to get any of them to run in NullDC emu. They convert fine using Guru's keys, but they don't run at all in the emu.

Many thx Maddog.

After verifications, these 3 dumps are perfectly matching TheGuru's dumps extracted from actual Mame CHDs.

Considering those games, wsbbgd doesn't even reach the naomi boot screen on nullDC-Naomi, and dygolf does but the game freezes because of board incompatibilities.
But sprtjam is running, indeed. Unfortunately, this game actually crashes the emu during the very first stage and/or during the middle of the demo.

For information purpose, and as far as I know, Virtual Fighter 4 first dump has not been tested on nullDC-Naomi yet, since the decrypt key 895102310BECA880 seems to be incorrect, meaning the rev. C probably needs another one. Moreover, VF4 Mame 0.127u3 CHD is still private, so we cannot check this BoboPJ64's dump for the moment.

I'd be interested to know what settings and BIOS you are using, since I get nowhere with NullDC.
I converted Sports Jam to this one for NullDC:
"ROM" file
Name: SPJAM
Size: 184549376
CRC32: a7e00a5f
MD5: 74c6596f9df931b6e179579152bfedbf
.LST file
Sports Jam

"SPJAM", 0x0000000, 0x0B000000
As I said, conversion went fine using Guru's keys, no error messages of any kind.
I have used MAME's BIOS epr-21576d (renamed to naomi_boot.bin of course) which should be compatible according to the readme. Think I also tried 21576b, still no cigar.
Please lmk if I'm doing something wrong. Don't care much about playability, but want to be able to see something more than a black screen. :?

A little WIP report as bonus: we are probably having a verified Virtua Tennis very soon. This won't be much use with current status (Guru has it marked as red, ie no key available). Anyone around knows how these keys are discovered?

@Maddog: you can try the new nullDC-Naomi input plugin. Perhaps it would solve your sprtjam problem, since a lot of games are now fully playable thanks to this fixed plugin.

Original VF4 (not Rev.C) has been dumped and released, but we cannot convert the track03.bin : gdrom2rom.exe just doesn't work on Naomi2 games ...yet. We also need track01.bin & track02.raw lenghts to compare with the ones extracted from the Mame CHD.
