Hello, I'm new to the dreamcast scene and would like to ask a few questions.
1) If I want to play burned games, do I have to install a modchip?
2) Is there a way to soft mod a dreamcast?
3) What exact kind of discs should I use to burn the games?
Bought a dreamcast today, help with mod

Well... I just used a normal CD-r. Most likely the DC should play backups without any mods... Mine did anyway :pKyrue wrote:Hello, I'm new to the dreamcast scene and would like to ask a few questions.

Re: Bought a dreamcast today, help with mod
no mod required
700mb CD-r for most rips.
900mb for the latest
most should be self boot others will need a bootdisk
insert disk with power off otherwise the machine will hardboot and thats just not nice
further info here http://www.megagames.com/dc/dc_backup_faq.shtml#6.1
