Magic Engine problem

Post by Dreamcast4life »

first I would like to say if this is in the wrong spot, move it please. alright I finally registered my copy of ME and its fantastic but I have a minor problem, when I play games with CD audio (I have Ys III and its a REAL copy) the game works but the CD audio comes out of the CD drive head phone jack, is there a way to correct this problem, my Playstation games and CD games run CD sound fine but this doesn't, any help would be good, thanks.

you need an analogue sound lead from your cd to your sound card,
and to make sure its input is selected in the windows volume controls.

btw imo YAME is a better emulator for pce cd games and is free,
good luck finding it though.

I own Ys book 1 and 2, Ys III,Dracula X (real Copy) and Exile 2: wicked phenomenon. I have cord running from my CD to sound card but the sound is still coming from thee player not the speakers.

have you tried selecting the different inputs in the widows volume control
i have 2 cd roms (on writer, one dvd) for analogue sound one is 'aux' the other 'TAD-in'
also your lead could be a DA connector and not an analogue sound connector
it should have three wires (i think it's one red, one white, one black)

failing all that try the Magic Engine forum

but why would CD music play on the speakers when jamming to it but on that emu it does. that really doesn't make sense but I will try anyways.

Check the pce.ini file, there is more than likely a option there that will change it, or perhaps you do need to have the cable form the cd drive to your sound card. I know I have the cable from the cd to the sound card, and it works perfectly.

And I have over 250 CD games for the system. If you are ever looking for any good games in a specific genre, pm me and I can let you know what good games are and the ones that are rather pointless or not worth playing.
