Most people will be using external oscillators rather than the gfx pin.

Yeah, especially if everyone wants to see if they can hit 300. I got a pic of an external oscillator and i'll do a diagram next time I have the chance

You can't use the 54 Mhz pin to overclock the DC, its too much power...324 mhz... Whats the point of this?
Why doesn't HTML work anymore on this damn forum!? God!

cool.. seems a simple mod... I take it if you can chip a PS2, then this mod is going to be easy isnt it???

Yeah reletively just don't read one post and attempt it. Theres a lot of other talk regarding the possibilities of 300Mhz, so make sure you don't get your wires crossed....Like I did

you already killed a DC trying an OC matt? thats a shame really

and anyways, an oc of more then 50% is extremely ambitious to attempt, only pc cpu's like amd's semprons (a 1,5 ghz cpu, based on a chip that allows for 2,2 ghz with the same chip and all for higher end cpu's can get to 2,3 with only fsb Ocing, no multiplyer changes) can get that high

and even then those cpu's need a big jump up in Vcore, so without upping the voltage on a sh4 300 isnt possible i think

has anyone tried getting to 240 mhz yet?

I think the guy that bought one of the first OC'd DC's we saw on eBay posted in the "Finally" thread, maybe page 2. About compatability and improvements

Does there really need to be more and more explanations on this? I thought the first topic about it with kamjin's explanation was adequate enough. I just got my parts from jameco, so I'll be trying it soon.

I think theres a need for just one solid explination that works. I took the pic because I couldn't find any nice high res ones that show IC305

Heck, does anyone know how exactly the CPU multiplier works in the DC? We can't change it externally at all?

Think its nine and locked at it, if you change the frequency that goes into where the leg of "CPU Multiplier" goes you'll up it.

We probably have a better chance of changing the plls output than changing the SH4s multiplier.
