There is an adapter so you can use a PS/2 and AT keyboard on the Dreamcast instead of using the official Sega Net one.

I think the converter things have a chip and some other stuff in so it would be pretty hard to make one

yea, no matter what you will at least be spending money on the IC. I bought mine for 2$ a piece, so it is probably cheaper to buy pre-build ones.

nope. i just have two of um =P. I could probably take one apart and tell you what IC to use, but that would take time. If you are really interested i will though...

oh from your prev posts i got the impression you soldered the converter yourself, so i thought you might have some schematics, but if you dont, never mind, dont take the things apart on my acount

All the converters I've seen have some sort of embedded chip that contains programming -- i.e. not a simple "connect this wire to this pin" type arrangement.
Rand.

Dosn't the dreamcast controler contain that chip? So if wired the mouse wires to the proper wires, at the proper places woun't the informatin go through the chip?

no, because all the signals from the mouse are ps2 encoded, and the dreamcast maple buss chip does not accept ps2 as input
