Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
picked up Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing for 360 last week, plus the overpriced DLC for Mechasonic/1 extra track.
The game is an amazing split screen game. Really has that dreamcast game feel. The game has some bugs, and is lacking in the track variety (too many similar sonic maps.) Online is sucky with only 8 tracks to play (9 with DLC) and no modes besides single race, But get 2-4 players split screen and its a blast, with all game modes available except grandprix.
It's not the mario kart killer(Mario kart Super Circuit on GBA being my all time favorite,) but its probably the best kart racer I've played in a long time. All the reviews just complain that it's not as good as mario kart, but Nintendo has had 6 games to get it right, I'd say this is pretty good for a first (and probably only) attempt by sega.
It's been quite cheap (between 12-15 bucks off and on at Amazon recently. I highly suggest picking it up!

Because Portal is the better game.Jeeba Jabba wrote:Why would Valve develop a new engine for Portal 2? Does Portal 2 mean Half Life 3 in Chinese? Fucking mother fucker.BoneyCork wrote:You still don't get it.
I'm not shocked that a 7-year-old engine runs fine on my computer.
I'm impressed that Valve used a 7-year-old engine for a full-priced 2011 PC game. I hadn't actually followed the development of the game, and naturally assumed it would be using something more advanced.
This is why I used the phrase, "I'm happy to see..." rather than "I'm surprised to see..."
God damn.
Half-Life is fucking shit.
Seriously. I hate it.
Seriously.

Cranking up the poly count on models and the size/complexity of levels can pretty easily make an old engine beat the shit out of a new computer.Jeeba Jabba wrote:OMG SOMEONE JUST MADE A NEW MOD FOR QUAKE 2 AND I CAN'T BELIEVE IT RUNS SO WELL ON MY COMPUTER THAT'S HALF THE AGE OF THAT GAME.

Chrono Trigger for SNES. Eva is graduating from college, and this is one of her favorite games. I'd gotten her a copy for DS when we first started dating, but her brother borrowed it at one point and lost it. So this makes a sentimental as well as fun graduation present.

They need to port that to iPhone. Secret of Mana was great, but...Chrono Trigger please Square Enix. I would pay a disgusting amount for it.

Would you want the SNES version, the DS/PSone version, or a 3D reengineering (a la FF3/4)?BoneyCork wrote:They need to port that to iPhone. Secret of Mana was great, but...Chrono Trigger please Square Enix. I would pay a disgusting amount for it.

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
Any.
A 3D version would be nice, but we all know iOS is a place for ports from other systems to sell to idiots like me, so I guess the standard 2D port. The handy thing about the DS version was the second screen, which was great for holding the battle menu options.
To be honest, I could probably just play it through the iPhone SNES emulator, but making menu selections via a virtual d-pad rather than just touching them seems amazingly awkward.

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
There's a solution to that if someone wanted to implement it (though the best way of doing it - embedding a scripting engine - might not be allowed on the App Store). I'd consider trying my hand at it if I had a Mac to install the iOS SDK on.BoneyCork wrote:To be honest, I could probably just play it through the iPhone SNES emulator, but making menu selections via a virtual d-pad rather than just touching them seems amazingly awkward.

I keep hearing rumors about a third-party controller accessory; it would be really nice if this actually came out and was supported. Alternatively, developers could theoretically just add Bluetooth support for PS3 or Wii controllers.

All the main emulators have support for Wii controllers. It's handy, but kinda limits the portability a bit. I beat Earthbound this way though.

Got it on Steam. Really regret the purchase.

Forgot to post, I bought Mass Effect on Steam last week for $5. Which was a complete waste of $5. I played about two hours and deleted it.

Yeah, it was definitely where BioWare lost their way.
