Aww... you had me thinking it was an official game coming out of the blue by the name of the title. Got me all excited.

Oh, well - at least it's got New Zealand Story in it. I'll give it a spin.

It is a offical Imrtechnology Release

Cant beat the price ether LOL

Best game Insector X my test game it is running 100% speed and sound and is the game to test first . i was going to do just that as a SGA but made it a bonus Deal! any other game is included but this one was the main target in the end. Great shooter a lot of fun

IT is as good You see when you try it! most if not all work very well better then normal i spent 3 days on optimzing it. all games are the real ones of course so it is as good as your going to get.

New Zealand Story is not the best game on the pack i really like kageki and Insector X

Dont forget to read the chart for what way the screen orientation
has to be for each game keep it handy

Set the sample rate lower or play with the settings to gain any speed i could not If you set the sample rate lower you can gain 5ps more speed but i was not willing to do that . custom sample rate gives a good balance only a slight unsmoothness and only in NEW zealand story. It is underclocked and the cpu setting were changed a lot.

Speed and sound is very good zero frameskip That was hard to do i found 3 settings for the compiler that got me 15 fps more then normal i had to recompile kos with those as well and got 4 fps more speed. So it is a good release you will have fun with it. uses every thing i could to bring it up to standed my new standed is quiet high.

I try to avoid it your not wrong !. This is a complete driver the best game that runs perfect is the one i wanted to play Insector X . The others play well Due to short cut taking, And just hard work finding the right settings . I used 3 cdrs full for tests to get the right balance at the start Newzealand story with out any optimizing was 16 fps with 8000 sound sample rate. It was not looking good. I got them to over 31 fps all games i dont beleive the counter that much but if you play Insector X you see proper fullspeed. Smooth no frameskip at all. New zealand story has this little bit of unsmoothness that no matter what i did never went away. So it is not as good as Insector X . But for what it started out as unplayable . I got it nice and ive had fun playing this release for a few hours before i released it. So i would think if i enjoy it which i dont enjoy much you the public will.

Thanks i try my best at the time Im going to totaly optimize the mame source in a few weeks we should see a new source release and some much needed speed on some drivers. I hate frameskip these days . It is there for you to use if you want.

I have a lot of work to do but i use all of this as a learning tool i need to learn faster these days im running out of time .

Also please know that to get this sort of speed out this driver there may be bugs in the games so it is not a final version but as far as i know most games work nice to atlest the 3rd levels. I cant test them completely you people become my beta testers .

Well When you look on my site the games with Gold medals are the best so it is easy to see for every one if it has a gold medal you can be safe in knowing it is close to or fullspeed or looks fullspeed.

Got RADquake and DREAMmidi to work on now lot of work very busy. After that Dream mpg player proper release not a test bin. After that some cool mess builds of some unemulated machines not yet on dreamcast. Special Emualtor on christmass that people will like as well. keeps it s a secret!

Have fun any problems i can help with im willing to try.

Thanks Skater_dusto have not seen you in a while thou i dont put msn on much.

Does Arkanoid 2 run well? Arkanoid (and its clones, etc.) has always been one of my favorite series of games. Arkanoid 2 was so much better than the original, IMO. If it runs as well as, or better than the SNES version, I will be jumping for joy. That will kick ass.

And yeah, my brother's on msn like 24/7. But of all the times I have been on I haven't seen ya. Hope things in your life are going well. As with all the members here. :)

Yup it runs as well dreamsnes, you will have to use the menu to flip the screen the right way thats about it . Sound is a little odd on the intro other then that in game is near perfect. touch fast but you can use the settings to gain a speed you like underclocking would slow it down and make it extra smooth thats the same with all the games. Set screen orientation to 3 on the menu .

I like version 2 the best as well set a lower sampler rate or higher rate depending on whats more importain smooth-ness or the sound . It is not fully optimized but looks fullspeed. Runs well not as well as some of them you would have to tell me.

Settings for arkanoid 2 are
screen orientation to 3
Sound set to 44kh if you want great sound but it makes it less smooth.

That goes for all games if you want perfect sounding sound or close to it up the sample rate to 44kh you will lose some speed and smooth ness but gain much better sound. up to you really i like smoothness and speed over better sound.

44kh sound will cost you 8 fps
14kh will gain you 6fps over 44kh
8kh sound will get gain you 9 fps almost
no sound will gain you 10 fps or more.

So to any one wanting better sound Set it to 44kh you lose a touch of speed and smoothness but the sound will be like the arcade or close to it.

some tips you can underclock and overclock the game from with in the mame menu as well while in game press (start) & (down) then go to Input (general) , on screen display press (a) then press right trigger return to game any time you want in game press right trigger to bring the onscreen display up were you can adjust all the music volumes and underclock overclock settings on the fly. Have fun

For example you can use this menu to turn the FM music off and play New Zealand story with out the annoying music and still have all the sound effects.

Thats how i play it then you can lower the sample rate and get extra speed and much smoother. that applys to all games if you want to tweak it more

Awesome. Single-driver packs are much handier than single-game releases. Good luck getting back to Quake and DreamMIDI! Although, both of those are shaping up pretty well already!

Yeah i agree with that if i can get a whole driver to work up to or near fullspeed looking nothing will ever be true fullspeed with out short cuts of some type. but really old 1 ,2 cpu drivers as soon as you get 3 to 4 cpus then 3 to 4 sound cpus. You have trouble. The only way to fix it is to remove or lower the overall MHZ of the whole driver and still make it playable. This driver fits that bill. Others will not and have to be SGA type affairs. But ive got very good feed back on this one today via email and my forum. So im on the right track!.

This is optimzing for the target platform. untill i force my self to learn ASM thats the best one can do with mame i have been looking at the source and most of it is optimized all the basics are coved.

You know... you can fix this with .cfg files?!

romname.cfg in the /cd/cfg directory, then hit 'X' in the selection screen to load those defaults....
